Hi. Thanks for stopping by our Kickstarter page! At Corrente, we make all of our bags out of a small workshop in the Brooklyn Navy Yards, we use local suppliers for our quality materials (except the Italian leather, of course). Over the past few months we have designed all of the items in our holiday collection, including 3 new wallets. Now that we have all our ideas, we are ready to make them real!
Why support? Because you, like us, believe in the significance of independent and locally made. Because smaller production runs mean less waste and limited-edition bags. Because we support local businesses, which in turn, create jobs in our community. Because advocating for Corrente makes the world just a little bit better of a place.
What does $8k do? $8k allows us to sample and produce at least three of the seven new styles we have designed. Local production set-up can be costly, however once we have paid the initial set-up, we can remake the styles in new colors and details, season after season.
If we supersede our goal with a higher amount, we will be able to sample and produce more pieces in the collection, and also use the funding for sales and marketing.
Most importantly, what do you receive for your contribution? Firstly, a massive and official THANK YOU for everyone who contributes or simply supports!
Smart Phone Download: below is one of the three options.
Graphic Calendar: January's download will be sent out Dec 28th. Every 25th of the month you will receive the following months calendar.
Studio Duarte's cube studs: sterling silver, handmade in Brooklyn, one of our everyday faves. And we are selling them at the Corrente Co-op, 179 Orchard btwn Houston and Stanton
Signature Logo Keychain: we are currently developing the hardware now, the key chain is polished metal with a ring and swivel snap so you can attach it your Corrente Bag!
Bags: We want to offer you a bag you will wear and love, for the bag rewards we are offering you a choice of either the surprise of our new collection or classic Corrente.
Holiday Designs: two of the designs listed as reward options. The i-pad case and the hobo will be made with supple slightly-pebbled leather, featuring a soft-structured center pleat, and trimmed with either chain and/or painted edges. The collection creates a perfect juxtaposition between soft feminine shapes and clean hard edges. The i-pad case also converts into a clutch, and it comes with a detachable chain/leather messenger strap.
Alison Brady Print: We collaborated with art photographer Alison Brady earlier this year, if you choose a reward that includes a photo, you have your pick of one of the eight final options. Here are a few samples:
Tours of the BK Navy Yard and Collaborations: all of these will be scheduled individually and will happen in the early to mid-part of 2012.
Special THANK YOU to the following, who made our kickstarter video possible: Adam Donald, Jessica Dierauer, Genevieve Vincent, Sonejuhi Sinha, Rocky Owens, Final Cut
