MARCH UPDATE: US trip, ending credits, new design challenges, and more!
It was AMAZING. Lots of people played the demo and you know what? They loved it! Lots of people commenting and laughing out loud!
We met lots of interesting people. Creators of great games and people from amazing companies. We received high praise from people from Microsoft, Sony, Mojang, Telltale, etc.
It was a great time and we got lots of interesting opportunities we will study during the next weeks. We hope some of them turn into something real and awesome.
The demo looked marvelous, with 35 different events, 140 outcomes, 2 secret endings, 3 turns, AND LOTS OF FUN!
People seemed to like all 6 love interests! Here you have a recollection of pics of the event:
2. THE STATE OF EVERYTHING
We're preparing the planning for programming. We're facing some design challenges (we will talk about that later). We're getting art for lots of secret endings and some ending credits scenes. We're getting dozens of new events. We've applied to new conventions to showcase the game. We're talking to lots of potential collaborators. Some of them sound really interesting!
Wanna see something new? Well... the 3x3 image we just shared. That is a group of previews of the AWESOME ending credits scenes. We have 6 so far!
3. DESIGN CHALLENGES
We're starting to face some of the remaining design challenges. Do you want to know some of them?
- How turns work. So far we had 3 weeks and 3 turns on each week: morning, afternoon and evening. Right now we're worried about it being confusing because these 3 micro-turns within a week aren't necessarily part of the same day. They are just 3 random days within a week. But we don't know how to convey this in a clear way.
- Players' turn order. We didn't want the order to be the same all the time. That's the case on our biggest inspiration, The Yawhg. Here we wanted to give players the opportunity of being the first ones in every turn, which will give them some advantage. So... how to do this? We have 3 ways so far: some kind of bidding system // some kind of minigame within the game // some kind of minigame outside the game (this is a bit special).
- How 1P mode could work. We have an idea on how this could work in an interesting way, leaving solo players to face all the potential scenarios in the game. A treat for completionists.
- And more!
What do you think?
4. FINAL HOURS TO SUPPORT US WITH THE "INDIE G ZINE"
Also, please, come and take a look to our current KS project, the "INDIE G ZINE - VOLUME 2". If you love indie games, you will love this book! Also Monster Prom will be portrayed in it ;)
And that's all for now!
Thanks for all your support!
