Hello fellow Mountaineers, and Happy New Year!

I hope you had an amazing holiday season. I was able to take time off work and be with family and friends, and I'm feeling quite rested and energized. Hence, I wanted to give you a quick update on our project.   (:

Kirk Dennison from PieceKeeper Games is hard at work getting all the final logistics for freight and shipping figured out. We had an update call yesterday, and he was just about to start booking things! I'm very glad to have been able to contract his help for this project. He is insanely smart, and has done this many times. We are still choosing our final fulfillment companies for a few regions, but when we have finished, I'll update you and let you know the details!

As far as timelines go, things are very tight! We are still on track for finishing production before the beginning of Chinese New Year. However, when both the manufacturer and the freight companies decide to close, will affect whether or not we can get freight going before or after Chinese New Year. Finishing manufacturing 1 day late could end up in a 4 week delay, if the freight companies close right after we finish. After talking to Kirk and our LongPack project manager, I think we still have a chance, but please keep your fingers crossed! Just wanted to be straight forward with you and let you know what is happening. I'm also going to look and see if there is a way to pay LongPack to have workers do overtime or something. Really hoping we can have product on boats by the end of this month!

I plan to have an update call with Luisa this weekend on translations, so that we can start getting those cards and rule books printed in time to meet up with the games when they reach the fulfillment centers. Thanks again to those of you who have helped translate. It is much appreciated!

I'm going to get back to work on some other things now, but wanted to give you all the low down on where things stand after the holidays.

Enjoy the New Year, and be sure to shred some powder if you happen to have some in your area!

Sincerely,

Corey Wright

A short clip from when I went snowboarding with a friend visiting from Germany on Mt. Hood at Timberline Lodge.

Did a nice 14km snowshoe hike up a butte called Milican Crater. It afforded nice views of North Sister in central Oregon, but the 100 mph winds at the top in the dark were quite chilling. Literally!

@devilman9050: We are aware of the current situation with GamesQuest, and are planning to use a different EU fulfillment company. (:

@Justin: Haha... yea, it's really hard to land jumps holding a 5ft gopro stick... (-: And when you are snowboard for the first time in 3 years! Was a little out of practice/shape that day.

@Stev0: Thanks, let's hope it doesn't come to that. I'm hoping to hear more the beginning this week. Lot's of moving pieces.

Delays are inevitable. Personally I understand if you cannot make the current timetable. Everything looks great. Bonus points to you to conquer the climb that is chinese new year.

Glad you got to get some time off to enjoy the holidays! Keeping my fingers crossed for that deadline, but Chinese New Year is what it is, and most of us long time KS backers know all about it. So here's to hoping you can beat it, but no worries from me if you can't. Also, I can't help but think you'd have landed that one jump if you hadn't been holding the camera. :)

Could you please try and avoid using Gamesquest for the UK/EU fulfilment if you can Corey? They always seem to over-promise and under-deliver, I've got games that have been Sat with them since November waiting to be sent out (Fireball Island). No worries if you do end up using them though, the games do tend to arrive eventually, cheers
