Haiti's top comedians are coming together to shoot the country's first hit TV show in 30 years. Fund the pilot and make #HaitiLaugh!
What if a TV show had the power to make a brighter future for Haiti? A TV show, written by and starring Haitians, that could inspire good and make people feel great? With your support, we can make it a reality.
Haiti's top comedians are ready to shoot the country's first hit TV show in 30 years. They're just waiting for you to help fund the pilot and make #HaitiLaugh!
The show concept and pilot episode have already been written by Haiti's top comedic actors. Now we need your help to shoot the pilot and sell Season One of the show.
#HaitiLaugh 5 Guiding Principles:
First and foremost, the show must make people laugh and fill them with joy.
This show will model good values and show the consequences of good and bad choices ultimately promoting the health and growth of Haiti
Written by Haitians, starring Haitians and shot on location, #HaitiLaugh will be an authentic representation of life in Haiti as not seen anywhere on television to date, all the while building the TV industry in Haiti.
During our research we continually encountered skeptics who never believed Haiti could produce a hit Sitcom with great new episodes each week. We will turn the skeptics into believers with a consistent high-quality production.
From working with new broadcasters using mobile towers to distribute TV signals to pushing issues that are taboo in Haitian society, #HaitiLaugh will succeed by pushing boundaries technically, comically and socially.

Haiti is a tough place to shoot any film or video project due to the lack of infrastructure and nascent film industry. We are collaborating with The Muska Group, one of Haiti's top commercial production companies and Drewstone Productions, a production company with experience working in developing countries. Muska has 5 years of experience shooting in Haiti and producing high quality content. We have already overcome the challenge of finding local actors and writers to work on the project and have secured digital and broadcast distribution. We need additional funds to secure the location for the pilot shoot, build the final pieces on the online platform, and pay for security and staff time.
With support from Oxfam, we commissioned research in Haiti to identify the viability and value of a new TV sitcom in Haiti. We are drawing off learning from similar projects in India and South Africa to ensure #HaitiLaugh produces a show that inspires good and makes people feel great, helping create a brighter future for Haitians.
