Support the development of COPPERSTAR STUDIO
Copperstar Repertory Co. needs a place to call home: A central location with rehearsal space, offices and costume and scene shops. Since our inception in 2008, we've been on the move for rehearsals with our shops based in the home of our founder, Mary-Jo Okawa. It's time for us to create our own space where anyone in the community can come for professional quality performing arts instruction and experiences. We need your support to fund the development of the Copperstar Studio space by August 2012.
We will continue our partnership as the Resident Theatre Company of Higley Center for the Performing Arts in Gilbert. But our performances are only a small part of what we do. The majority of our time is spent in preparing, rehearsing, building and running Copperstar. And that is what our new space will provide.
We will develop the Copperstar Studio by early August 2012, before beginning our fifth season as the East Valley's premiere theatre company. This project will include outfitting our space with hardwood floors, mirrors, office furniture and fully outfitted costume and scene shops.

What we do is unique, special and valuable! Copperstar produces four large scale Broadway musicals a year with an average of 55 cast members of ALL AGES and 75-120 volunteers per show. Often we have had entire families in our shows and have had three generations involved at one time. Our last production, Seussical the Musical included cast members from 8 months old to senior citizens !
This season, nearly 10,000 people saw our main stage shows, over 3000 attended our Student Matinees, over 10,000 students saw our Class Act shows (professional musicals that tour AZ schools) and 178 students attended our camps and workshops. We are a largely volunteer community organization with a ton of heart. We love what we do and our passion shows!
How It Works
We need to raise the money not only to develop our space, but to let people know about it. But it's an all or nothing campaign. If we don't reach our goal we get $0. We can't risk that happening. This is a necessary step for Copperstar's development so please give generously and spread the word via email, facebook, text, twitter asking others to do the same. With the Copperstar Studio, the whole community will benefit.
