How to paint your Rivet!

James Wappel has done a great video on how to paint your Rivets to his high standards.  If you've got an hour to sit with Jim, you'll enjoy this video!

If you're off a mind to learn more, check out Jim's Kickstarter for his own instructional video series -

Finally finished watching the video. Thanks so much for doing this, Jim. I think I figured out my paint drying problem. Very excited to try it out so I can learn this method.

I wish I lived somewhere with a little more humidity sometimes. I was messing around with trying to mix paints on the fly like this and my paint kept drying up. Very sad.

@Kris - It looks like he's used a pin vice drill to attach a length of wire (brass wire or a paper clip) into the figures leg. He's jammed that into some cork.

I have a 100% newb question (I've never painted a mini before). How are you attaching that little guy's foot to the post thingy? Is it glued? I wouldn't want to glue it, finish what I'm sure will be a superb paint job (...), and then snap his little leg off trying to remove him from the post!

What have you got the rivet warrior held on?

Wow, you make that look easy. I look at this amazing hour long video, then I look at how many miniatures are coming with the Blitzkreig! level pledge and kiss any free time later this year good-bye.

Thank you very much James. The helmet weathering was especially interesting. I'll look forward to trying out these techniques in September !

@Jennifer, Mark and Niranth: Glad you liked that! It was very ironic to be filming the Rivet Warriors, and not all the other figures I have been training and planning for on the 'regular' painting videos :-)

      It was a blast, though!!
