The Sun has Risen!

Konnichiwa, honorable backers.

The Kickstarter campaign is over, and what a resounding success it was! We fell short of unlocking our last Stretch Goal, but we'll go ahead and unlock it for all backers thanks to the Retail Pledges that are still being tallied:

This turned out to be the most successful campaign CMON has ever run, with a total number of backers that is truly staggering! We can't thank all of you enough for your massive support of Rising Sun. We hope your faith in this project will be rewarded by an exciting game you will enjoy for years to come.

Now that the campaign is over, here are the next steps:

1. A Kickstarter survey will go out in the coming weeks, which is hosted by Kickstarter itself. We'll ask you most importantly for your email address that you read (we won't spam you) - if you give us an email you don't check you will miss important updates - including when and how much to pay for shipping, tracking info and lots of important project communications.

2. We'll use the info you give us to populate an account on our pledge manager, and when that's complete we'll send you a link at the email address you gave us through Kickstarter. On the pledge manager, you will be able to specify which items you want, pay for additional items and also for shipping.

In case you have any trouble processing your payment at the end of the campaign, please visit the Kickstarter's FAQ Page. We reproduce here the pertinent section:

---

A project I'm backing just succeeded and my card was declined. What do I do?

If your pledge was declined, just log in to Kickstarter and click the “Fix payment” button in the banner at the top of your screen. This will guide you through the process of changing your payment method. We'll also send you an email every 48 hours with a direct link to correct the issue. Don't delay, however: backers have 7 days to resolve payment issues before they are dropped from the project.

Here are things to look into:

1. Check that you entered a valid credit card number and the correct expiration date. Make sure the card hasn't expired.

2. Confirm that your billing address and phone number are correct.

3. Make sure you haven't exceeded the credit limit on your card.

If everything checks out, it's possible your bank put a hold on the charge. Please contact your bank to authorize the pledge. Once you've cleared up any issues with your bank or card, you'll still need to follow the "Fix Payment" link to retry your pledge.

Zombicide has been dethroned as the biggest CMON campaign, but soon it will have a chance to retake its crown. We hope you will join us again for our next Kickstarter campaign, coming at the end of May: Zombicide: Green Horde! This sequel to the smash hit Zombicide: Black Plague, will bring players back into a world of deadly medieval fantasy, this time filled with infected orcs and goblins who will put survivors to the ultimate test. This green menace is not only stronger than their human counterparts, but they also tend to gather into massive hordes that ambush the survivors when they least expect it. Uncover the many surprises the Green Horde has in store for you!

Strength and honor!

@Martin Aas Andersen I have tried exactly the "easier checkout" route you talk about, but after I filled in the details, it asked for a password and it created a new paypal account for me, even if I didn't ask for it and did not want to. There was no way around it. In few days, Paypal wrote to me that I have two accounts and they banned them both, further increasing my "villain" status.

It added salt to the injury, because my original account was limited before any prior notice and without giving me any chance to take action or defend myself or anything, just because some anonymous idiot at Paypal decided a donation button at my ZXDS site violates their policy as it might be somehow related to some copyright infringement. It's even more ironic, because in the list of actions which are listed as allowed after your account was limited it clearly states that you are "allowed to put Paypal logo at your site". Go figure.

Definitely would love a 4th dragon, but I hope most that the utmost care and time is devoted to testing and game balancing. Also anything you can do to make the game very approachable to first time players. Congratulations on the big win and thanks for the fun KS.

    4. Shane Quinn on April 4

Looking forward to those minis for sure! While my OCD side agrees with the people asking about the 4th dragon, it wouldn't make a whole lotta sense to have a 4th. Each of the 3 dragons are linked to each of the seasons. Winter isn't technically played in RS so there's only 3 playable seasons. I assume that was the reason and I'm very glad they included a box to hold all the extras. Really woulda hated having a bunch of loose minis everywhere.

      FINALLY!!!!
next month we get to unleash The Green Horde.

@Giacomo Obviously there's no new monsters in the new set as that would require extra minis

Thanks CMON!!! Just wanna ask if there will not be monsters in this new set of season card, just enchantment, virtue, war upgrade and winter upgrade? Sorry for the dumb question

    10. Ruinaes on April 4

Was there really never any consideration for a 4th air dragon? I would seriously bet that there is a model that is complete. I think it should be thrown in as an add-on in the PM if it exists.

    11. jphoenix on April 4

Please add a campaign mode/story mode to Zombicide. It is so due already

"Here’s how this easier checkout works:

Customers enter their name and shipping address. They’re prompted for their credit card, email address, and phone number. @Patrik There should be a guest option in PayPal but as far as i remember it's a bit hidden so you have to look at the page closely "After a user is redirected to PayPal, they can pay with a credit card by clicking the slider on the bottom-right side of the screen.". However it depends how the seller has setup the api:
      "Limitations

The guest payment feature has the following limitations:

Guest Payments are not available for Implicit or Pre-approved payments.
Guest Payments cannot be made to a personal or un-registered PayPal account.
Guest Payments can only be made to Premier or Business verified PayPal account.
Guest Payments cannot be made using an email that is already registered with PayPal.
Guest Payments will not be available if API caller passes an email address in the request envelope."

As I haven't posted during the campaign at all: Thanks for this campaign! Like with SMOG, I only joined for the minis (not gonna play RS at all, but maybe use them in Shadows of Brimstone or with my old Clan War armies), so I'm content to wait to get my hands on them. Looking forward to BP2, although I'm still angry at you for not giving us veterans some crow cards last time, so once again I'll spend money with that in mind and won't go all in. Hubbie and I really hope you had some great ideas for this season, as BP lacks... something, compared to Zombicide classic. Orcs and gobbos sound just right, so we'll be there to check out what you did with them.
Now back to waiting for Massive Darkness to arrive. See ya!

And the long wait begins... One year until I get my hands on those georgeous minis (if there's no delay). Will we get a site/contact to send rules questions to, so that the rulebook makes frequently mentioned points clearer? It's simply prettier than a self printed FAQ.

    19. Brendan Plumstead on April 4

It seems likely that Green Horde=better Berserker Zombies ala Prison Outbreak, and that this will likely have some stretch goal with massive darkness in mind.

    20. TheYgg on April 4

I hope that Zombicide: Green Horde! brings some sort of sewers back (maybe as portal tokens? Goblin holes? who knows...), which is the only thing lacking in black plague imho, regarding everything else it is far supiror to the modern zombicide and my group has a lot of fun with it

      Also a Duckaijubomination wouldn't hurt

    21. Pawel on April 4

@Shaun Last year CMoN made KS campaigns month to month, this time there is 2 months in between (3 if you count that it will end in June). Remember it is END of May, so there is slight improvement.

    22. Pawel on April 4

@Arakin Name for Zombicide is good as it is. First season was: Zombicide: Black Plague because Black Plague caused Zombie utbreak.

Second season is Zombicide: Green Horde because it's all about Orcs/Goblins. And it IS standalone game.

Besides Zombicide: Black Plague: Green Horde would be just stupid, and Zombicide: Black Plague Season 2 would suggest you need to have Season 1 to play. So current name for next Zombicide is good and well thought out in my oppinion.

Personally, I think it's too soon for another CMON KS as well, especially ZBP2. I can't help but think it won't be as successful as it otherwise could have been.

1/ Practically back to back KS campaigns... seriously?
2/ Massive Darkness still not delivered, but not *too* far away. The ZBP crossover elements will no doubt tide a lot of people over.
3/ I'm sure enterprising MD backers would have incorporated MD minis into ZBP anyway. I was going to - the fantasy monster theme is too close not to.

I'm sure it will be successful... I'll *want* to back it, but the KS proximity will almost surely make me minimum back it and then use the PM to get what I want.

@CMON: Regarding the pledge manager, I really hope that you use one which supports credit cards directly. If you use your own one like the one used for Massive Darkness, I hope that you add support for something like Stripe so people can pay with credit cards directly. The PayPal only option sucks. I contacted your customer support about this and they told me there should be a guest option to pay via PayPal without registering, but there was no such thing - it required creating new PayPal account anyway.

So I really beg you, use the remaining time to add Stripe or BrainTree or whatever to add direct credit card support so we can pay for shipping easily. Thank you.

    29. Arakin... Tis but a flesh wound! on April 4

Well this update is full of awesomeness, but it also made my OCD nerve twitch a bit lol!

Great getting the new cards, but I had hoped for a fourth season dragon over an expensive box, so was hoping the retail pledges would unlock that for us.

For ZBP2 please rethink what it is named as it should say Zombicide Blaxk Plague, not just Zombicide.
