About this project
I am planning to create new platforms for exposure for independent Jazz & Soul artists and connect their talents with High School and College Students with the same ambitions. My first project is to develop 2 new CD projects with Jazz Saxophonist Phillip Martin
- and Soul artist Taylor Pace . In my opinion they are the faces of the new Jazz & Soul movement. They have paid their dues and they are ready for this opportunity. We will develop 3 events with Universities in Texas and we will include High School Jazz Ensembles to open the events. We will also do workshops with Phillip and Taylor the day before the event. Our objective is to carry forward the legacy of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Grover Washington Jr, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, and Whitney Houston.
Your donations will assist with the following:
1. Booking Studio Time
2. Booking Studio Engineers
3. Booking Musicians
4. CD Manufacturing, Labeling, and CD covers
5. Travel Expenses to Austin, Houston, and San Antonio
We plan to release the CD by November 15th. We will work with High School
Band Directors and Music Departments at 3 Texas Universities to present our events in the Spring of 2013. Our goal is to start in Texas and take this project to several states across the country. We believe in the power of young people to create great music with instruments and connect with the rich history of American music. With your financial help we can keep GREAT music ALIVE!
We need to maintain this rich legacy of American Jazz & Soul music.
