In heart of the big city, life is good for three best friends sharing an apartment. That's because their roommate is the only one doing any of the work and paying all of the bills. Fed up with their immaturity and irresponsibility, he moves out unannounced and leaves the friends facing certain eviction.
Smart Guys is a six-episode situation comedy about friendships, quarter-life crises, and video games. Paul, Nick, and Josh are our dimwitted, down on their luck heroes, who until now never had to face adulthood. To make matters worse, their ex-roommate Pete has become a diabolical businessman bent on dominating the video game industry along with destroying the guys' friendship.
Paul, Nick, and Josh figure the best way to show Pete they'll be fine without him is to beat him at his own game (because they're smart guys *WINK*). So the trio sets out to create the world's greatest video game, but the first of many obstacles in their way is they know nothing about making a video game.
If you're a fan of Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, or Workaholics, Smart Guys will have you laughing out loud in no time!
Smart Guys was co-created by Paul Ritchey and Josh Henderson, and was co-written along with Nick Murphy, and series producers Luke Brown and Mike Sadorf. The series will also star Ritchey, Henderson, and Murphy.
Ritchey and Murphy are the co-creators of the YouTube channel ContinueShow, and along with Henderson, host the weekly show Continue?. Their loyal fan base has grown to over 100,000 subscribed viewers who have gained Continue? over ten million total views. The show has also spawned a successful podcast, a series of YouTube personality collaboration sketches, and a number of holiday specials.
In addition to Continue?, Ritchey, Murphy, and Henderson have partnered up with Brown and Sadorf before to produce several parody movie trailers, all of which have become viral hits for YouTube channels such as Machinima and Gamervision. Their award-winning God of War Indie Movie and The Legend of Zelda (1987) trailers, along with their countless other original shorts, have accumulated over five million combined views.
We realize the creative freedom and direct line of communication afforded to us by the Internet is unparalleled in any other form of media distribution. Smart Guys will provide the chance to expand our current audience and will present them with storytelling elements they may not have seen from the web series format before. Smart Guys will also join other contemporary online scripted narratives in establishing proof of concept for online serialized original content.
By supporting the Smart Guys Kickstarter of course! While the amount being ask to fund Smart Guys may seem like a lot, there are dozens of unseen production costs for a project of this magnitude. Two of the most important aspects are the ability to create a convincing setting for the characters and the production's ability to remain on schedule. Both will be achieved by generous donations from you! The larger the budget Smart Guys has to work with, the more immersive the story and the more timely the production.
Now for the fun part: when you donate towards the Smart Guys production, you will receive rewards exclusive to this Kickstarter as tokens of our appreciation! Please make sure to read the reward descriptions before pledging as some rewards are cumulative and others have limited quantities. Rewards requiring scheduled dates and times are to be determined, may be subject to change, and will proceed regardless of your availability. All rewards are exclusive to the Smart Guys Kickstarter and won't be available for purchase as merchandise.
Remember, we won't be able to make Smart Guys without your help!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
One of the biggest challenges we'll face is being able to coordinate our schedules with those of the people we'd like to include on this project. Working with all the best tools for the job is important to us so we can bring you the highest quality show. We already have over two decades of combined experience among the current Smart Guys production crew and we'd like to increase that to become several decades, if not a century, so we can solve an imaginable or unimaginable problem we may encounter.
Reward fulfillment may have us as excited as the actual Smart Guys production shoot. The rewards we'll be creating are going to give us the chance to personally thank all of our fans and supporters in the most creative ways we come up with. We're going to be able to try our hand at new things such as digital distribution, graphic arts, and using the hot glue gun. With the help of some incredibly talented people and excellent crowd funding utilities like BackerKit, we know you'll be as happy as we're are about your rewards…once we get our fingers unstuck.
If there's one thing we could ask you to take away from our Kickstarter, it's that you should trust us to entertain you. We're professional filmmakers, writers, and crazy people. We promise Smarts Guys will be the funniest sitcom you'll see online until Smart Guys season 2.
Of course. Continue? will carry on as normal.
YES! Continue? will not stop while we're making Smart Guys. It isn't Continue?'s replacement, but an additional web show. Again, Continue? isn't going anywhere.
YES! Don't worry. There will still be weekly episodes of Continue. Smart Guys will only augment the already insane craziness that is Continue. I know...I haven't been putting the question mark behind Continue(?). I do what I want when I want. Unless that is not doing Continue while doing Smart Guys...then the answer is "Continue? isn't going anywhere." Just to be clear CONTINUE ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE.
It's like an extension of Continue?. We play characters similar to our Continue? counterparts, but it isn't the Continue? backstory or anything.
It isn't "Continue? The Movie". It is more like an enhanced version of what Continue is and isn't. We play characters that are similar to ourselves but also aren't like us at all. It's an augmented version of Continue but at the same time it isn't anything like Continue. This is getting philosophical as shit. Look. You're going to have to learn that some things in life aren't easily explained. Life isn't black and white. Look I'm sorry...that's just the way it is. It's going to be okay. Watch Smart Guys!
Because Continue? is slightly altered reality, whereas this is 100% fictionalized reality. We're not sure you could even make something that is Continue? the Movie. Something like that could very well suck. This won't suck.
We're trying to do something different. We don't want everything existing in the ContinuVerse. We're looking to expand into other venues, but while proceeding with our normal shows.
