About this project
We are currently raising funds to make the documentary Continental. Which is a look at the infamous Continental Baths in New York. The Continental Baths was a seminal gay hotspot that existed from the late sixties to 1974. The baths themselves were a lavish Roman style affair, which opened in a newly post-Stonewall NYC. Owner Steve Ostrow wanted to create a decadent and luxurious clubhouse where newly liberated men could explore with wanton abandon.
We are selling the past to pay for the future
In December 2004 a small crew of people headed to Kansas to film an interview with Fred ' God Hates Fags' Phelps that would end up being a part of the Sundance jury prize nominated documentary small town gay bar'
The full interview would go on to make its way to legendary indie director Kevin Smith who used it as inspiration for his explosive film Red State. Which also premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to much acclaim.
For the first time ever we are making this interview available to you in its full form.
Just in time for the Holidays.
Looking to finish up post-production and get this out February 2012
