Connexion is a social wellness project that fosters our ability to build meaningful and intentional connections in our lives, by way of co-created and freely disseminated content. The project is built around a simple ask: what does it really mean to feel connected to ourselves, to others, and to place?
My name is Anabelle Budd, and I ask a lot of questions.
Thanks to an amazing network of collaborators, supporters, and producers, Connexion has recently completed, screened, and released a mini-documentary series on the topic of EMBODIMENT. Connexion is now raising funds for a second season, on the topic of PLAY. Once produced, PLAY will be freely distributed through our channels and platforms, and hopefully shared widely.
Using personal stories gathered through interviews, PLAY will explore some of the following questions:
What, if anything, is the purpose of play? What does play look like? Where do adults find space for play in their lives? What can children teach adults about play? In what ways do people play with and bend society’s expectations, rules, constraints, and constructs? What can play in the workplace achieve? How does play connect us to ourselves, to others, and to place? What challenges us about play? Why does one play the piano, but does not play a painting?
In backing this project, you are directly contributing to the making of this series by covering the costs of pre-production, filming, and post-production (editing). This season is set to be complete by May 1st. In addition to our gratitude, we are offering a range of rewards, from stickers to dedicated event invitations.
I believe that intentionality about connection in our lives can translate into a greater sense of happiness, a greater sense of community, and a greater sense of personal and societal well-being.
I want to personally thank you for your support, and thank you for joining me on this journey. I invite you to continue participating, in a myriad of ways. Find out how by following Connexion on social media and by signing up for our newsletter!
Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge is the one that brings you to this page: achieving the funding needed to cover the costs of producing another season.
We’ve allowed ourselves a reasonable timeline, and producing the series by May 1st should not be a challenge. Some risks are outside of our control, including changes in participant availability. Clear and consistent communication, as well as careful planning, will be required to minimize the impact of any unforeseen risks.
All in all, having already completed the EMBODIMENT series, the team at Connexion is prepared for what should be a smooth ride in the production of PLAY.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
