For sometime now it has been a dream of ours to record an album of worship songs (or more accurately an EP which is a CD but with only 5 or so songs). This EP would consist of songs we have lead in our home church, songs that have been inspirational to us, and some original tunes.
In August, 2015 we have an opportunity to work with Jon Meyer who is a producer, musician, singer, and songwriter in the Dallas, TX area. Jon has produced albums for Ross King, Todd Wright, Billy & Cindy Foote, Jeff Johnson, Jonny Diaz, and many other artists who have been tremendous influences to us and our music.
We are asking for your help. Just recently we have started a KICKSTARTER fundraising campaign. Kickstarter allows us to set a financial goal for you to see giving you the opportunity to support our vision and make a pledge to this project. The only catch is KICKSTARTER is an all or nothing campaign. So if we don’t reach our financial goal, we don’t get any of the funds and you are not billed. We are trying to raise $8,000 that will go towards the recording expenses of the EP including studio, musicians, production, mastering, and duplication. We are asking you to prayerfully consider supporting this project by making a generous pledge today. We do understand that this will be a huge investment on your part and we don’t take that lightly. We pray that you will truly see our hearts and the vision for this project.
We’re going to pour our hearts into this worship project and we are confident you will be truly blessed by it. We already have so many people who have encouraged us to continue on this journey. We love each of you and truly appreciate your support and love and thank you for helping make our dream become a reality.
Blessings, Shelly & Robert Conn
Risks and challenges
We are learning that making a CD (even though it’s not full-length) is a very difficult task. There are so many elements to the process. We would begin production in August and that means traveling to Texas with 4 kids. Anything could go wrong. So we are praying voices hold strong and plans for childcare don’t fall through. Oh and we’re looking for a place to keep our dog while we’re gone. We hope to have the project completed by the end of this year.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
