We are reviving and redefining small press publishing, supporting independent poets and writers. Read more

About this project
The Conium Review is a small press publication from Portland, Oregon. We publish poetry and fiction from local, national, and international authors. The first issue is due out in February, 2012.
Our Funding Goals:
If we reach our funding goal, we can make sure this first issue is a high-quality print edition. In an era when print media is marginalized, we are believers in the allure of “new book smell.” We want to produce a 150+ page inaugural issue, complete with a full-color cover, professional binding, publisher grade paper, and full bleed printing.
Right now, our small volunteer-based staff is reviewing hundreds of manuscripts submitted by talented writers across the globe. With enough funding, we can afford give away free copies to the authors selected for inclusion in the issue. We also want to donate copies to libraries and charities, push the magazine through various distribution channels, and host literature readings in Portland, Oregon. In short, funding helps get our publication into the hands of more readers.
Of course, we still utilize technology to support our old-school publishing methods, offering online reviews, interviews, podcasts, and social network integration.
So let’s recap...
Your donation supports independent writing and publishing, giving us the funds to:
- 1. Print a perfect bound magazine with a full-color cover.
- 2. Give free copies to authors featured in the issue.
- 3. Get our publication into bookstores and donate copies to libraries/charities.
- 4. Host literature readings/workshops in Portland and other cities.
Even $1 helps. Please support The Conium Review and independent publishing.
