Using the unused
Electronic devices emit very small amounts of electromagnetic energy. The energy surrounds most technological products in our daily life. People have endeavoured to harness this energy and make it usable. We decided to transform the unused energy from the iPhone into a notification system on the back of the phone. Thus, we started to use the unused.
Bring the back of your phone to life!
The Lunecase is the first intelligent iPhone cover. The case knows and identifies when you receive a message or a phone call before it is even displayed on the iPhone's screen. The Lunecase will identify the type of notification, whether it would be an incoming call, or a text message. The case displays these notifications on the back of your smartphone with the help of LEDs, using the free energy that is emitted by the device, converting it from the natural iPhone's electromagnetic energy into a usable energy to power the notification system embedded in the Lunecase.
How to use guide:
- Just snap it on!
The Lunecase does not have any batteries inside the case or any connections with your smartphone, you just have to snap the case on your iPhone and it will go to work straight away. That’s the beauty of the technology - by utilizing the electromagnetic energy, we can eliminate the need for batteries and connections. The case only operates on GSM networks.
New Technology, Perfected.
Ten or even five years ago mobile phones emitted a lot more electromagnetic energy than they do now. There is so little electro-magnetic energy outside of modern smartphones that it seemed impossible to transform that energy into something useful. We have filled the Lunecase with the technology needed to capture and utilize these electromagnetic waves, but the Lunecase can still protect your smartphone from light damage, because primarily it's still a protective case for the iPhone made from durable material.
Our top priority was to create a functional and intelligent case that still looked sleek, chic, and preserved the aesthetic lines and contours of the iPhone. The case is innovative, intelligent and hi-tech, and we still succeeded in keeping the Lunecase an elegant, ergonomic and a good-looking accessory for your iPhone! The case remains as thin as the most popular cases on the market.
We’ve named this unique and impressive technology - Lune. And now we need your support to develop our Lune technology into exciting and innovative products like the Lunecase.
What people are saying about the Lune technology
“There’s plenty of potential for Lune’s notification to actually be useful — and if it truly doesn’t use up your phone’s battery life, all the better.” - http://venturebeat.com/
"Using the phone’s energy field as its only power source, this unique accessory breaks free from the conventional usages of Bluetooth signals and offers a glimpse of what electromagnetic energy can do for users." - http://www.psfk.com/
"Concepter’s Lune smartphone case detects when you’re receiving a call based on the wavelength of your cell signal and shows a green light to alert you, using your phone’s energy field as its only power source. We had a chance to test the Lune at CES 2014 and were amazed with its unique use of energy and radio waves." - http://www.mnn.com/ (Green Electronics, Green Gadgets, Green Technology)
“Makes you wonder, the unused energy can be harnessed via millions of phones, using that free energy for profit would be remarkable.” - Harris (Yahoo News)
“Great idea. Might absorb some of the energy, keeping the phone cooler too. Could increase battery life. Tons of potential.” - StompK (Yahoo News)
Concepter and Lunecase team
We are a creative and innovative team. We develop concepts and transform them into real products. We create new technologies that will make people’s lives more enjoyable and more interactive with technology.
Our first experience in product development was with the iblazr - the smart LED flash for smartphones that surpassed the goal on Kickstarter by 2.6 times. After getting the support we needed from Kickstarter, we successfully started mass production and delivered most of the shipments to over 70 countries within the deadline period.
Lune technology has been a new and exciting development that our team has been focussing on. We have mastered the art of gathering the iPhone's free energy and converting it into usable energy. The Lunecase project is being developed by a new team of professionals controlled by Concepter management and in close relationship with the original iblazr team.
Vlad Tislenko (CEO) - Taking Lune Technology into the future.
Denis Kharitonov (Co-founder) - The one who came up with idea and will never give up on the dream of transforming it into a real product.
Steven Green (Marketing) - People living in Australia really know the benefits of a global approach. Steve helps Lune-tech to reach a worldwide audience.
Anton Varavin (CTO) - Is there anyone that can make the Lune technology work? He can. Anton is a technical genius.
Oleg Vinokur (CFO) - Our US representative. The only one who loves accounting in the team.
Andrew Bond (Senior Designer) - The creative core of our product's identity. Riding a bike keeps him grounded - and goal orientated.
Eugen Rogov (COO) - "There is no problem I can't solve" - is written on the back of his laptop
Nadia Nekhoda (Solutions Consultant) - Got a question? She knows the answer without putting Wikipedia in the url line.

Sergey Podryga - Optics development
As you can see from above, we developed the initial prototype of the Lunecase back in 2013 when we discovered a way to utilize the energy emissions. We were extremely excited about what we could do with the new green-tech. It took us almost half a year to transform that technology into a working prototype with the right compromise of functionality and design.
Now, the Lunecase team is ready to step forward into the future and put Lune technology into people's pockets. We need Kickstarter's help to get this new and fun technology into the production phase - a step we can't do without your help.

Risks and challenges
When you develop a new technology and then a product that takes advantage of that new technology, you encounter a huge number of problems you need to overcome. The Lunecase is a unique product, and our team is the first to make that product a reality.
We developed several electronic pieces and case prototypes and tested them with thousands of phone calls and text messages, but there is always a chance that something will not go right during the product development process.
Our Concepter team believes that there is a solution for any problem. We have experience on Kickstarter and have successfully fulfilled a past project. We know what it takes to produce and deliver. Once you embark on this Kickstarter adventure with us, you can rest assured that we will provide the latest information on the product development status. When we know something, so will you.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The case only operates on GSM networks, unfortunatly the case won't work on CDMA. That means, in the US, the Lunecase will work with AT&T and T-Mobile and WILL NOT work with CDMA Verizon and Sprint.
We will send a survey after the campaign ends where you will be able to choose the color.
We’ve been testing the Lunecase prototypes for several month and didn’t find any impact on iPhone battery level.
We’ve been testing the Lunecase prototypes for several months and didn’t find any impact on iPhone network connection.
The case is made of high-quality plastic with thin rubber-coating. That makes the case pleasant to touch, hard to let down and easy to get out of your pocket.
Will the screen of the iphone touch the surface if i place it face down to see the notification on the case?
The Lunecase is made to protect the display when it’s placed face down.
