Risks and challenges
With over a year and a half of development we are more than pleased with where Common Fibers stands. We have tested and revised countless prototypes to ensure that our products meet the highest standards. We have applied the same focus and detail when outlining our manufacturing process to ensure we are prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
Our first step was developing relationships with vendors and we are not talking about a couple emails or some Google searches. After months of collaboration we have a detailed understanding of minimum orders, material availability, and lead times for all of our partners. We have built this information into our schedule and have the utmost confidence in the premiere vendors we work with.
The manufacturing process itself can be a risk for many projects. In our case, the water jetting and sewing process will be handled by industry professionals. We have experience working with these partners during the prototyping process and are very confident with their quality and reliability. Moreover, we have agreements in place that will ensure their duties do not affect the production schedule.
Lastly, the Common Fibers team has extensive experience in carbon fiber manufacturing. We are all composite freaks with personal and professional experience working with this material. If we could eat it for breakfast we would. We are beyond stoked to have this opportunity and will continue to pour our energy into this project. Please feel free to send us any questions or concerns you may have; we will continually update you throughout the project. Thank you for helping us make carbon fiber casual.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
