@ Jason M. You make a good point about the "naturalness" of her show. I enjoy her cursing immensely. lol. I especially enjoyed when she talked about Cersei throwing "dat pussy" on Jaime in her GOT recap. and I definitely want to SEE her not just hear her - so her show would have to be in a visual medium. I'm thinking she could do both: her own show - her way. and some network show that pays the know what I'm saying?

I also disagree with your dismissal/diminishing of the accomplishments of this kickstarter. Everything is relative and you have to understand..she did this out of her apartment with NO marketing, funding or additional resources. She got total strangers to trust her, lover her work enough and support her to the tune of 285% of her goals. Imagine what she could do with a budget!? I think it's very telling - along with the youtube subscription numbers. But hey..we both support and love the show. I'm just glad to be in on the ground level - cause mark my words - CBG19 is going to be...BIG!

    5. Jason M. on May 17, 2013

@Tokunbo, as successful as this Kickstarter campaign was, 1227 participants is a pretty small number if you consider the markets that the networks are after. The YouTube subscription numbers closing in on the 100,000 range are more telling, and considering the success of The Geek Show on Sirius Radio, and Comic Book Men on AMC, which as much as it isn't similar, proves that there is an audience for comic related material.

That said, I like her just the way she is dammit, hair and all! I don't give a shit that she swears, what I do appreciate is that she has the option to, the minute you put in restrictions everything is altered because it's no longer natural, the show wouldn't have the same appeal on a network television station. Would be cool if she got her own show on Sirius Radio, but I do enjoy her in visual media.

Anywho, Booster Gold is the shit, he needs a live action movie, k thx bye~

      Fuck you,

If this doesn't prove to whatever network execs are out there that she deserves her own syndicated show..what will!? She, by herself "started from the bottom" in her own apartment and was able to get not only the tens of thousands of subscribers that she already has but able to do something like this! (285% of her goal!) If the execs don't sign her..somewhere good..then they're nimrods. all of 'em.

      The transaction keeps failing.. Dafuq?

    8. Andrew Donald on May 15, 2013

@ Jason M, Massive ROFL at that, had a family member walking past during the Cochlian-Captain Tyson watercooler dialogue scene, had to pause and skip to a shot of Tyson or I would have had some awkward explaining to do!

Also re badly edited comment below, should read "genuine interest in comics",

If those two short films are anything to go by then they should do a good job with re-enactments and documentaries they are apparently going to put some of the money towards

      lol, just watched Ghost Perv

Some hilarious crap there, those who didn't donate missed out big time

    14. Andrew Donald on May 13, 2013

      Well done

A great team effort, both the people who make this (Danica and Tyson) complement eachother very well, there are plenty of outgoing people willing to give their opinion on youtube these days but this show does very well by having proper looking captioning and soundbites.

Looking at the comments it seems many have a bit of difficulty getting around the fact that someone highly attractive can have a genuine interest in comments. Especially that fan wars video where they went on and on about it. Rest assured though it's the authenticity of CBG19 in an era where much is about style over susbtance in the entertainment industry which has endeared people to your show

For my own part Iv'e enjoyed the camaraderie of it all. Makes me laugh and that's worth donating towards

      Rest assured people

@ Mark Hanson: Thanks. Yeah, baltimore was pretty excited and unified for the past few months. But wait - there's a London, Ontario!? See. If it wasn't for Comicbookgirl19..I would not have known that. I just learned something. and CBG19 is responsible. She's bringing the world together! Through comics, her gorgeous face and sexy, sexy mouth....oh there I go again. lol. and @ Marcus: not cool. CBG19 will reveal her name and other facts to us when SHE wants HER own time.

Google says her name is Dani.

I stumbled on your videos randomly last year and was an instant fan, and now so proud to be able to be a part of the Kickstarter campaign. My girlfriend and I wait with anticipation for each new installment (especially GoT) and I spread the word every chance I get because no friend who's even half into sci-fi, comics, or related pop-culture should be without an introduction to CB19!

@Andrew: I think she is very healthy and it could be that she's slightly older and looks younger. She's remarkably well-informed on such a wide variety of things - maturity wise she's way beyond her age. So..she could be 26-27 and just look younger. A safe range is def. 24-27. and what's up with this Tyson guy...why is he so lucky? why does he get to spend so much time with her?

    25. Andrew Donald on May 9, 2013

lol, next stretch goal should be to reveal age, or at least why the 19 is in there

It's a tricky question, because on the one hand she looks as though she may be early to mid 20's, but I am late 20's and she if I remember right she has made a couple of small references I think to enjoying some of the same shows/cartoons I enjoyed growing up like the 1994 Spiderman cartoon + TMNT just before that, which would have been slightly before her time if she is early to mid 20's and suggests she is closer to my age in late 20's

No idea what the name would be

    26. David Royal on May 9, 2013

I don't think Julie or Amanda or Melissa hit the mark either. Definitely NOT Rebecca or Bella. Yup. Gonna stick with Christine (or a variant thereof) and the real first name of Dazzler (whatever it is).

@Tokunbo: I was attempting to be humorous. I don't think the 19 refers to age either.
I assume her Mom is Comic Book Girl 18. That makes more sense. (Humour? again).
... and I intentionally went high with my estimate of her age to exaggerate my take on female vanity.
Congrats on the Ravens and the O's are hanging in there. Thx for responding. MH London Ontario

      @ Mark: Wait. She's only 19!? I didn't think the 19 referred to age. I'd estimate her age as....24

    29. David Royal on May 9, 2013

I'm betting her first name is Christine or maybe the real first name of The Dazzler (whatever that is). She doesn't look like a Mary or Jennifer or Susan.

Mark Hanson on May 9, 2013

She said she's going to reveal her first name. It's then up to us if we want to revile it or not.
I don't think it's going to be THAT bad! I just assume she lied about her age and her real name is Comic Book Girl 27 or something. I'm Mark Hanson. Who the hell are you?

    31. Thomas Foster on May 9, 2013

I know CB19 said she would revile her first name if they reached $50,000. but personally I think she should keep it a secret if she wants. Probably didn't think they would get that much.

I don't think she thought she was getting even $2,000.But if 50,000 makes it a better show than hey as long as it helps because it's obvious people want this show to succeed.

@ Ryann: I was just trying to understand your reasoning. Is it 'lame' because it's too little? too much? Like I said, I don't get it. I assume you support CBG19 like we all do since to even post here you have to be a backer. I was just trying to understand your point.

    36. Missing avatar

Brian Harper on May 8, 2013

      Yeah $50,000!!

And I hear what you're saying Ryann, getting 250% of your goal and only giving up your first name (which let's face it, if she ever gets big we'd find out eventually anyway) seems a little tame. But I think she probably is so slammed with having to meet her original backer goals, that are really pretty cool, that doing anything more would be too much. Remember she needs to work on the show too! That's why we're pledging the monies!

    37. Ryann Von Doom on May 8, 2013

Tokunbo, if you've seen other stretch goals, this is pretty lame. My opinion on the matter, think whatever you like.

@ Andrew: Tell you the truth - I'm not into comics that much either. lol. Except for circa 2002 Vampirella comics - I love Amanda Conner. That and the Sandman series. Other than that..nope. I just saw CBG19's Game of Thrones stuff (I'm a huge ASOIAF fan) and that was enough! I hope she really does branch out soon and start covering more general/pop society stuff.

    39. Andrew Donald on May 8, 2013

Think someone made a late pledge of $1,000 or something, pretty sure it's said 2/3 left for sometime

Lol. I don't even understand all that much about comics, just love the Prometheus, GoT reviews but most important the authenticity of it all

Plus the swearing, hilarious to see in this age where most Commercial TV etc in particular has become bland because of what the politicall correct set may say

WHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! We did it! lol. I don't know why I'm so excited - but I feel like I'm a part of it all! I was watching the progress daily and I just got back home and boom - $1500 in like 2-3 hours...EXCELLENT!!!! Both goals reached!! Yes!!!

    41. Greg Wilson on May 8, 2013

Congrats! Big day. I'm looking forward to seeing what the CBG19 team does in phase 2. It's been a fun ride so far.

    42. Andrew Donald on May 8, 2013

oh wow, I was expecting a few more days to pass, but a small jump there of about $2k in the space of a few hours

Well done on meeting the stretch goal and 250% of the original goal.

@Ryann: Why does it suck? I don't get it. CBG19 is already at 48K - 240% of her phase 1 goal. She's already at over a thousand backers. and still has 5 days left. It's a very doable and practical goal. and I say - more power to her.

    46. Ryann Von Doom on May 6, 2013

To be fair, that stretch goal sucks. Lol

    47. David Royal on May 6, 2013

If you don't make your stretch goal, maybe you could post a poll on your web page asking users to vote on what they think is your real first name. Make us choose from an alphabetical list of 10-15 names. Kinda amusing to hear what your users think your name might be just from your personality and looks. Of course, you'll have to share your real name with us after Robot chastises us for getting it so wrong. :-)
