Comfortibles is The Convertible Comforter...it's an interchangeable comforter with endless design and color possibilities.
Comfortibles is a two-piece comforter that separates the top (main design) from the bottom (base of the comforter) by Velcro on the corners and sides of the main Comfortible. Detaching the top allows you to have unlimited design capabilities, accomplishing a Beautifully layered look for your bedding.
The set includes SEVEN PIECES in a FULL/QUEEN size (92x92):
(1) Full/Queen Base Comfortible (Black)
(2) Comfortible Tops (Burgundy & Zebra)
(4) Shams: (2)-Burgundy & (2)-Zebra
The first design in our Comfortibles collection has a black base with a burgundy and zebra Comfortible top that you can interchange within seconds.
***The fabric is very soft and comfortable!!!***
I have named the Burgundy and Zebra set, the "DJ Laila Jade 11 Collection" after my 11-year-old daughter, Laila Jade, who is actually a professional DJ. She is very much into fashion and was so excited to be a part of Comfortibles that she picked out the Burgundy and Zebra for the very first collection.
Comfortibles allows you to reclaim valuable storage in your home that regular comforters take over;
Comfortibles has 2 pieces, which makes it much easier to clean in a standard washing machine;
Comfortibles saves money because you no longer need to take your comforter to the professional laundromat service;
Comfortibles is thermally-adaptive, allowing you to peel back the top layer and still be comfortable when your temperature rises while sleeping (this is especially good for those with night sweats);
Comfortibles attaches with soft Velcro for super simple & easy redesigning; and
Comfortibles is designed to be the most Uniquely-Creative comforter ever, giving you a beautifully layered design on your bed!
In a nutshell...
Backstory: Last year, I packed my vehicle with my Comfortible prototype and traveled across a few states to find a manufacturer who would be able to create exactly what I needed. I had a list of 28 manufacturers, by the time I got ready to get on the road to have my one-on-one with them, my list had dwindled down to 16. By the first day on the road my list had dwindled down even more...to 8 visits. What caused the list to get smaller? Unfortunately most of our manufacturing companies have shutdown and moved their production overseas. The other companies called to tell me that it was too intricate and they will not touch it. The story of the manufacturer visits can go on and on, but I'd much rather show you some of my pics of the visits :-)
The process of finding a manufacturer was exciting, with trials at the same time. Exciting, because I love to travel and speak to people; exciting because I love to learn about the business I'm in; exciting because I was exposed to more possibilities with Comfortibles and exciting because with every visit, I became more equipped with knowledge to help me grow. It also had its trials, because the manufacturer would say they can do it, but they wanted to incorporate their own modifications; trialling because the manufacturer said they would make it, but for an exorbitant amount; trialling because the manufacturer would tell me one thing in person and something different via email.
Through all of my travels, research and prayers, I finally found a manufacturer I am pleased with. Now, here I am. They have done a fantastic job of creating the prototype (the one in the video above) and they are ready to create more for all of our Comfortibles customers!
I have been able to save and contribute $11,000 of my own money and will be using the $5,000 to finish the initial couple of hundred Full/Queen sizes created. I would love to reach the stretch goal of $15,000 to begin manufacturing the 2nd Comfortibles collection (brown and camouflage), the $25,000 stretch goal will allow me to create the 3rd Comfortibles collection (blue and paisley) and if I am ever so blessed to reached the $35,000 stretch goal I will use that to create the 4th Comfortibles collection (gold and leopard). The stretch goals will allow me to concentrate on growing the Full/Queen Comfortibles collection, while allowing various colors and designs to our customers. Any finances above $35,000 will be invested in creating the Twin-sized collections. I would love to offer collections of children-friendly designs and designs that appeal to college students (especially those living in dorms)!
Comfortibles is specially priced for Kickstarter at $225 and afterwards will retail for $250.
This project is so EXCITING to me, my hard-working crew and everyone who is sowing into this project! To be in the Home Decor business and provide such a Fabulously Cool product is Exciting and to be an owner of Comfortibles is ELATING! I've added some pictures here to give you a visual idea of what the upcoming Comfortible collections would look like.
We have plans to create more Comfortible tops of various colors and designs as well as to create more base Comfortibles of various colors as our design line grows.
My Advice to Those Who Want to Follow Their Vision:
When you're in any kind of business for yourself, you're following a vision. You have to learn to be resilient, determined and stick to your vision, otherwise, people will sway you to and fro and you may quickly lose sight of your vision. Hold steadfast! Don't allow people's "No's" to deter you, perhaps what you have to offer is not for them, or not for them right now...Keep Going, Keep Pushing and Keep Your Head Held High! There are no failures, it's just a way that you tried that didn't work; do it again and again until you succeed.
Everyone has a Vision or Dream they desire to follow and those people need someone like you to BELIEVE that they can DO IT. Thank you for being one of those people who Believes in my vision and is contributing financially to help see this happen.
Comfortibles is patented. I hired a Patent Lawyer to make sure my vision was protected. If you have an idea of a product and are serious about getting it out, please make sure this is one of the very first investments you make.
Thank you for supporting my vision!
Love & Hugs,
Risks and challenges
As with all projects that rely on manufacturing, I am no exception of being at the mercy of the manufacturers production time. If there are any unforeseen issues with the manufacturer, I will keep you involved in updated timelines.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
