When people like me think Middle East, we typically envision violence, fear and hostile nations completely beyond Gospel reach.
Though I had no clue what to expect, I didn’t anticipate countless misrepresented youth, whose worldview is shaped as much by global culture as their own religious heritage.
I assumed we would be rejected, and often. Instead, we found arms and hearts wide open to Jesus, and to us.
Come&Live! is a non-profit missions community that provokes and inspires artists to revolutionize the world for Jesus.
We shared our first crowdfunding campaign back in 2009, only months after Kickstarter’s launch. Over the years people like you have helped send our team, 25 videos, and 1.5 Million albums - as gifts - all over the world.
Last year God gave me a vision for a documentary project. The idea that came to my heart involved filming, in connection with artists and creatives, the heartbeat of Global Youth Culture. Even more specifically, what Jesus was up to in their lives.
I considered putting together a small camera team, following artists on mission, and then sharing our stories and the hearts we would meet along the way.
The big picture goal, equal parts crazy and huge, is to capture Jesus stories involving global youth and creative artists, in every country on the planet.
This fall, with your help, we’ll begin releasing Youth Rising: Middle East - a collection of stories that will cover our travels to countries like Lebanon and Turkey.
It’s amazing, we’ve already raised 70% of our budget for this project outside of Kickstarter allowing this campaign to be our final step in the funding process.
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous foundation, every dollar given here, up to our full goal, will be matched, dollar for dollar.
We're beyond grateful for your willingness to join us in the journey of this story.
Risks and challenges
There are risks. We are in the early stages of transforming hundreds of hours of raw footage into mere minutes of finished shots and stories. There are many moving parts to a project like this that are not always within our control. While we believe our past track record speaks for itself (in that we will complete and release this project), we are not oblivious to the reality that this is a complicated process. Our sincere desire and goal is to have this film finished and ready to send to you by this fall, 2016.
Our greatest challenge is to communicate the stories and footage we've already captured into a piece as compelling as our experience in the Middle East itself.
We will do everything we can to make this entire process as easy, seamless, and positive as possible for you. You are a massive gift to this endeavor. Thank you!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
