Yes, it's true, we are cancelling our Kickstarter Campaign. Don't worry, it's not because Neil and Grant found themselves in a street brawl, we just like to goof around for the camera and thought this would be a funny way to start off this update. First, before we go into the details, we want to once again thank all of you for your support, whether it be a generous contribution or simply encouraging us to pursue our dreams, we are very appreciative.
As you may tell, we are not currently on track to reaching our funding goal for Hextraction and have therefore made the decision to preemptively cancel the campaign such that if we chose to re-launch in the future, we can do so with a clean slate. Before launching the campaign, we really weren't sure what kind of a response we would get. Would we fund it in a day? Maybe just a few dollars? Maybe it would stall but find a strong finish? What we didn't anticipate was that the campaign would provide us with something far more valuable than development funds; it would provide us a learning experience.
We threw our idea out to the world and the world came back to us with a gold-mine of feedback. From the game development veterans with 15 years experience writing a three page critique for us to review down to the average gamer posting a three word comment, we gained tremendous insight into how people viewed our game, what areas we needed to improve and what marketing techniques were working for us and which were not. It has been a somewhat humbling experience that has sent us back to the drawing board.
In no way does this mean we've given up, it just means that we will be taking everyone's feedback and using it to improve upon the game's core concepts & mechanics so that we can create the best game we are capable of. To make this happen, we'll be exploring alternate funding opportunities such as client service contracts and government business funding opportunities. One way or another, this game will get made and it will be awesome!

We will be resuming our weekly updates for Hextraction soon! Given the volume of feedback we received we have realized the importance of getting regular feedback from as many people as possible. Which is why we would encourage you to follow us, not only to stay up to date, but also to engage us with your ideas, opinions and feedback. Help us make Hextraction the best game we can.
Once again, thank your for your support! The past couple of months have been a wild ride full of highs & lows but just knowing we had all of you behind us made it all the more enjoyable. Looking forward to getting back into full development on this and we hope to see you all there at the finish line!
