Achievement Unlocked: Justin Cyr (+ Funded!)

Thank You!

We will publish a formal thank you update tomorrow, but we had to take a second to thank all of you for the amazing support and encouragement. We're funded! Thank you for deciding to join us on this adventure. Before we started, we had no idea how many fans of this beautiful old game would come together to help make our version a reality. You are all the support a small team like ours could ever hope for!

Note: We're working to get our PayPal alternative funding source up tonight, so look for that on the Kickstarter front page, as well as an upcoming update.

Justin Cyr (animator)

We have two prolific programmers, two amazing sound artists... and one heroic animator holding the fort. We already highlighted our large vision as a potential risk for the game, so we knew early on we had to even out those numbers. Today we're happy to announce that Justin Cyr, animator on choice genre titles Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game, TMNT GBA, and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith GBA, is on board to join forces with Bannon for maximum beat'em up pixel prowess! Justin was an early supporter of our endeavour, offering his advice and encouragement. Please welcome Justin. We're lucky to have him!

With initial funding a reality, many of you want to see those stretch goals reached. We'll keep punching 'til the bell rings, and continue to look for ways to get River City Ransom: Underground  onto your platform of choice. Gambatte!

Indie love

The Long Dark - This Canadian-based wilderness survival game is stacked! It looks like an amazing game from a talented, motivated, and highly experienced team. Try not to freeze to death in a post-technological world!

Mutant Football League - It's not too late for Michael Mendheim's rebirth of the classic football game franchise, but they need a rally, so if you want to see this game come to fruition, check it out!

Citizens of Earth - This game has already garnered high praise from the gaming press. It looks to be a fun game with something to offer, but needs your help!

Wait, PayPal will be open only until November, 9th?
That puts a major set back to my plans to upgrade my pledge to MEET THE BACKERS tier in December.
I am not sure I will be able to do that in November. :(

So, to get all of this straight, your fan made, official RCR sequel has the blessing, and backing of Kishimoto, officially crosses Abobo from Double Dragon to RCR for the first time ever, will have Dan Paladin of Castle Crashers as an enemy character, and now has Justin Cyr of Scott Pilgrim animating? Are we at the gates of some sort of beat 'em up Valhalla?!!!

Thanks all! Yes, Scott Pilgrim is a favorite of ours, and definitely a love letter to River City Ransom. We're lucky to have Justin. We don't even know what's going to happen when Bannon and Justin join forces, probably Voltron meets crossing the streams of two heavy duty proton packs.

Am I the only one that thought Scott Pilgram was a spiritual successor to RCR... Its so fitting that this guy is on board

So stoked for this game. Even more talent for what's there is bound to make this super awesome.

Honest true is that I bought Scott Pilgram because it reminded me of River City Ransom So that is awesome that Mr. Cyr is onboard. Caution though: I already love the animation because it is so 8-bity. Don't change it all that much. AWESOME!
