About

Saludos everyone!

Thank you for your interest in supporting So Good Pupusas' expansion! Many of you have tasted our pupusas and come to love our first truck from our regular locations at Cocoa Cinnamon on Tuesdays and #PupusaThursdays at the Latino Community Credit Union in downtown Durham. We're so thankful for your support over the last three years that we've been in business as a social justice food truck! Since we started, we've funded 7 renewable scholarships for undocumented students to go to college! We couldn't have done it without your appetite for pupusas and your donations to the scholarship!

Starting a food truck seemed like a big dream at first, but now, two years into our successful business, it's time to expand and double down on our social impact - WITH A SECOND, COMMUNITY FOOD TRUCK! In collaboration with a few femme culinary social entrepreneurs in Durham, we want to launch a second truck, with and for the community!

Being a small business owner is tough as hell, BUT SO ARE WE. With your help, we can launch this second food truck so more small businesses can be successful, too! Our launch of the Collective is how we do business better together :D

Risks and challenges

The challenges of starting a food truck are a lot about cost. Our first year and a half in business, we paid $1,000 per month to pay off our first food truck; the struggle has been real and we just became profitable. Small, femme owned, women of color, need-based, and low income entrepreneurs shouldn't have to struggle so much to make a living and make a difference! A big part of this campaign is to pay off the truck and pass on that savings to the collective!
