I am producing fan art through this Kickstarter project and my artwork is not licensed or produced by or for D.C Comics. These prints will never be available through any online retailers and will only be available through this Kickstarter project.
I will be taking pictures of toys. The list of toys is below. I will take a picture of me with that toy and than I will create an abstract art print from that picture.
////Below you will see a picture of a before and after process for one of my prints////
You will get email updates of the before and after pictures...these will also be included in the books. I will also give a brief personal description of what these characters mean to me.
All DC Comics characters and the distinctive likeness(es) thereof are Trademarks & Copyright © 1935-2013 DC Comics, Inc. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
Stretch Goals Reached!!!
I will be taking part in Kicking It Forward which is an honor system where successful Kickstarter campaigns agree to pledge 5% of their profits to other Kickstarter campaigns.
As you can see
from my backer history I’m a big fan of Kickstarter. I really believe in what
Kickstarter stands for…and that is simply helping out others who have a dream.
We all have a dream and sometimes it needs a little push from others to ensure
it is fulfilled.
What am I doing?!?!
The name of my art series is Iconic...because to me and millions of others comic book characters such as Batman or Superman are truly these iconic...larger than life characters.
I plan on
creating my new art series using digital watercolor techniques. I want to
create digital pieces that look like original watercolor painting but with a
slight digital twist.
I want to bring
that style to the most feared and beloved comic book characters. These are
characters we have all grown up to love....or hate, because who would Batman be without Joker....or Superman without Lex Luthor?
Why comic book characters?
starters I have been a big fan of comic books since I could read. I loved them as a child and still do as
an adult. I personally have an attachment to these characters that is hard to describe. Since I was very young I've been reading Batman, Spiderman, X-men...so its almost as if you get to know these characters as friends in a crazy way. (I'm not a psycho...I promise!)
In 2012 I sold
my graffiti style artwork of comic book, movie and video game characters at the NY Comic Con and sold out by the 3rd day. And
I wanted to attend the NY Comic Con in 2013 but I wanted to bring a new style
to the show.
I would love to bring my artwork back to the New York Comic Con
but I will need your help!
The bulk of the
money will be spent buying a table at the New York Comic Con and printing the prints out which is probably the most expensive process. Without this project I won't be able to create any prints.
Basically the money funded here will help fund my new project for the New York Comic Con. An art series based off using the toys.
All prints are
high quality 100lb paper.
*All prints are
sent to you bagged and boarded for their protection*
Here is the
list of prints:
3) Wonder Woman
5) Green Lantern
1) Lex Luthor
5) Ra's Al Ghul
6) Cat Woman/Harley Quinn (Love these 2 so much...you have two to choose from.)
How your money will be spent:
comic convention tables (artist alley tables) *Right now I plan on getting
a table at the New York Comic Con '13. If my pledge amount
is met and goes beyond $3,000 I will go to more...maybe even do a poll on
where I should go*
expenses to and from conventions
of the prints to you
- All of the
funding I receive will go directly into this project
