About this project
At Cohab, we offer businesses with individual and group memberships, 24/7 access to our workspace, free access to meeting space, free wifi, free coffee, access to business education classes, a brick and mortar mailing address, and more.
Everyday we see web designers chatting with non-profit consultants working with mobile app developers helping out church leaders. It is an amazing way to do business.
It's worked so well, in fact, that we're almost ready to open our doors to some of our favorite business owners, the ones who make great food!
In our new space under the Texas Street Bridge, Cohab has the dream and the beginnings of what will be an amazing commercial kitchen.
We need your help to make it a reality.
Raising $20,000 with help from supporters like you will allow Cohab to repair and purchase the equipment our members will need to cater events, host pop-up restaurants, create artisan food for retail, and bake gourmet cakes, cookies, and candy.
What's more, they'll be able to do it in a fully legal, health code inspected facility that will support their businesses as they grow.
So what are you paying for? We're glad you asked! Your contribution will allow Cohab to buy...

Risks and challenges
Expanding a small business or non-profit's scope of service always presents its own unique set of risks and challenges. This quest is no different.
Commercial kitchens, shared or otherwise, have to be carefully run to ensure the quality of the space meets the needs of our members, their customers, and the health department. In order for anyone to use the kitchen they need to be able to find it, which leads to new marketing challenges. Once we're up and running we need to be able to make enough revenue to keep the gas on and cooking.
These are all challenges we'll face once we're open, but they're all challenges we're looking ahead to now.
We have brought in some of the best minds in Northwest Louisiana to help us make sure that our design, marketing, and ultimately the way our kitchen runs, will meet the high standard we've always set for our services.
As we face challenges, we'll meet them the same way we always do, by relying on the best small business community anywhere.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
