 Hello awesome backers!

Welcome to all of our new backers and thank you to everyone for your support of this project!

We just posted two new Stretch Goals!

I'd like to tell you more about our new Scroll Upgrade/Play Mode Stretch Goal.

NOTE: the scroll in this image is NOT what the reverse side of the scroll will look like. It will have a different layout, designed more to favor map building.
NOTE: the scroll in this image is NOT what the reverse side of the scroll will look like. It will have a different layout, designed more to favor map building.

First off all, this Stretch Goal will not only upgrades the base game's Evergreen Forest scroll but also the scrolls for the Winter Highlands and the Savage Wastelands from the Maps Expansion! So you can mix in other terrain for a really cool looking world.

This play mode will be compatible for solo play, cooperative play and competitive play. While there won't be much change for how this play mode works with solo and cooperative games, it will change how competitive games are played. When you makes your own maps, the Control Spaces and that whole aspect of the game, are swapped out for a combat/elimination focused play. Additionally there will be an Artifact that sits in the center of the map, that space needs to be left open for the artifact when you are building your map. Controlling the artifact will adjust how your team performs and is worth points at the end of the game.

Thanks again for all your support!

Best regards,

Michael

Agree with some of the other posters here, I already went in and changed my pledge to simply the deluxe edition. $47 is a lot of money for a Tiny Epic game, I don't think the fold-over maps are worth it without any example. I would prefer just a second box later that has another terrain set of "box-in-boxes" instead of the proposed, yet unseen fold-over concept.

I'll throw my voice in here too about wanting to actually see some kind of prototype for the terrain expansion. It sounds great in theory, but I need to see how they will actually attach and stay on. Right now I am not convinced it will work well in execution.

Honestly I'm getting annoyed that zero has said about how the terrain covers will work even though lots and lots of concerns have been aired. Some video of the prototype covers would be even better.

I'm still uncertain about those expansions. Could you please explain or, better yet, show assembly? How often can it be reversed/repeated?

@Benjamin Fun idea. if it is not implemented in game I am sure you could still play in this style using the player elimination format.

With that being said it would be good if some non-diegetic map features were tokens instead of drawn onto the board/scrolls.

@Gamelyn Thank you for the response. I was truly hoping stretch goals would bring in coop for more than 2-players. I will wait until closer to the end of the campaign to see what the final product includes, but likely will bow out without the higher player coop count, unfortunately.

Thank you again for the response and running a great campaign!

@Ryan T. - No, the rules only support 2 players for coop mode.

Will this allow for support and included game mode for more than 2-player coop?

Why not just make it so you can fit all three scrolls together for a supermap?

What do you need to do a French version or a English/version ? If you need a translator, I'm in !

It would be nice if each landscape not only had unique positions of objective but also had special conditions. The winter highland could have ice that increase knock back distance or damage for falling through the ice of the river. The wasteland could have something to do with hazards. Like a tar pit you could get stuck in if you don’t use an extra move or a swamp you take damage in if you cross.

Don’t want to muddy the experience with too many unique rules might suggest that the feature only be placed in certain boxes so you could play with out them if you wanted. I think it would definitely increase the combinations to play with and improve replay-ability.

Anyway I love what y’all are doing ! Keep up the good work!

Awesome update! Has a 'president' game mode been considered? Basically each team needs to eliminate the mage of the other teams and protect their own, as an example

Alright, you got me. Upgraded to deluxe tier with the extra maps. I hope this map builder stretch goal is hit!

Awesome! Just throwing out a random idea that may or may not work with what's planned, but what if one side of a scroll was just a water landscape so that the raised terrain pieces acted as islands (or sky terrain to create the idea of floating sky-islands)? Perhaps certain spaces on the raised pieces could act as jump-off points where units could zip-line from island-to-island?

No joke, Saturday night when we all met up for board games and TET got brought up everyone's major complaint was there wasn't a map editor.

    16. Greatwalk on

That's really nice. Gonna have to write my own rules to make it change solo mode too. Hah

this...is a great idea. Might just get me back on the fence to get the full package.

Any chance of a play video to see how this all comes together?

Nice, at first I thought that creating a "modular board" for this would be hard due to having to balance the capture points but changing the rules to make it a combat/elimination game never crossed my mind. Good job guys, it is basically another game mode, this is aiming to be one of my favorite games
