It's still showing as cancelled
I've bought several $100+ mini-heavy games and enjoyed them. But that's just me. I want to get into figure painting so that adds to the value. And I'm sure lots of people can have just as much fun with a more bare-bones, abstract style game (which I also enjoy).
I just wanted to point out that Mechs vs Minions is NOT a good comparison for cost. A lot of people have been doing that on various message boards, and it's vital to acknowledge that Mechs vs Minions was a passion project made by a company that is raking in BILLIONS in video game revenue. They could take a loss on every copy and not even blink. They simply had tons of cash on hand and wanted to introduce board games to some of their League of Legends players. You can't compare that to a dedicated board game company that is trying to survive on their sales margins. Put another way, the Mechs vs Minions producer said, “Even if this game was the most successful board game of all time, it wouldn’t really move the needle much for Riot.”
I looked into it and showed it to a friend who is also a fan of the tiny epic games... and it seems like an expanded version of tiny epic kingdoms. Except that it lacks in all the ways that your tiny epic games interest me. Makes for a nice quicker game, keeps from overstaying its welcome, and very nicely priced. You really get a lot out of the Tiny games.
Not to mention, I'm not a big fan of fantasy,in general. I feel like to get the most out of this game, I'd need to go for one of the more costly tiers and I can't justify that, not for a game I haven't tried and just looks like an expanded TEK. But then, I haven't bought any of the other mini heavy kickstarter games. They look cool. But can I get 100+ dollars enjoyment out of them? And then you have something like Mechs vs Minions, which manages so much more for just 80. Or Xia, another game that seems to do it better.
I really like some of the systems in place for Heros of land, sea, and air.. just not enough. Best of luck with it, and it already looks like it has taken off. ..
This was a confusing, desperate-sounding and spammish update. Your personal stock just dropped in my book.
That's spam to me. Having backed several TE games, I'm done.
I applaud the desire to make more than the usual game by Gamelyn. I am also gonna have to abstain from an expensive game. Congrats on getting funded.
Doesn't look like my sort of game. I'm sitting this one out. Thanks!
Sorry, I'm sure it's a fine game, but at $110 for cardboard standees or $220 for miniatures, I'm going to have to skip this one.
I have been a loyal TE backer... that means I just received this update 4 times. On top of 4 times yesterday. Combined with the TEK:HC "free mini" ripoff... I am now considering dropping off as a backer of your future games.
I understand and respect the need to advertise... but there is a line that I believe you crossed.
What cancellation? I think I missed something.
Sorry. Shipping is a killer for me. Only $25 to Singapore but a whopping $55 to Malaysia (just 30 mins drive away from Singapore???)
Sorry not my sort of thing - I think the minis are a bit overdone for this sort of game , I am sure some will like it, like the chibi stuff to cutesy for me , spoils the immersive element for fantasy games. Myth style is about as far as I can go. Best of luck. May have looked a bit deeper if no minis and would have been a better price point.IMO Minis instead of meeples/card board are good when they are low key reasonable value even bendy is ok say like War of the ring and higher quality for Characters in tactical games like KD:M or Star Wars Imperial Assault, just dont feel its right for this game. Then again you are probably aiming at a different audience.
