Coast 2 Coast is the world’s first app that pays players to play basketball, football, and soccer.
Not only can you earn every time you step outside, you can also challenge your friends 1 on 1 using the app with the winner receiving a special bonus! The best part about Coast 2 Coast is nobody has to have the app for you to earn. Just step outside, grab a ball, and play!
It's the question that's on the tip of everyone's tongue. How can you pay users to play sports? Where does the money come from? How is this possible?
Good question. Coast 2 Coast was created to empower physical fitness through play and community, and we don’t ever want our users to have to pay for that right.
For the more serious athlete we have a paid and subscription version to go along with the free version. Being a paid or subscribed user gives you access to extra benefits and allows you to earn twice as fast.
However for the experience of earning every time you play and challenging your entire city to 1 on 1 play, that is FREE.
To generate revenue, I've come up with 8 revenue streams that will ensure Coast 2 Coast stays free for users. As the app evolves, our business model and sponsorship packages will continue to evolve alongside it. Offering our partners premier advertising opportunities without ever sacrificing the user experience. However if Coast 2 Coast fails to generate any outside interest we will be able to sustain the app without sponsors.
What's to stop another user from saying he won when he really lost?
We call it FAIRPLAY
After a match both players will drag the winners picture icon to the middle of the screen to declare a winner. Afterwards both players will be presented with a fair play option. 👍🏽 or 👎🏽
This rating will be one of the factors when determining who isn't playing honest.. A player who cheats once has most likely cheated before. So he is more like to have multiple "👎🏽" on his file. An honest player will have far less "👎🏽" on his profile so his account will be held in higher esteem . If Player 1 says he won but Player 2 disputes we will award both players the credits put up.
However, after a certain number of games we will review your account. If both players have played 10 games and Player 1 has 2 "👎🏽" and Player 2 has 7 "👎🏽" then the credits will remain with Player 1 and subtracted from Player 2. The threshold isn't 10 games it's a much higher number and other factors will factor into the equation. But you get the basic picture. Although not exact science this system creates a accountability on the user to keep the game fair. That's why we have 5 Anti-Cheating methods built into the app
Spectator Mode let's any user become a sideline ref to any challenge or team play game currently going on. Nobody likes a sideline ref until now Simply activate the app and begin recording points steals and blocks from every player using the Coast 2 Coast App.
Tap once to add a value, like a point. Double Tap if you make a mistake to take a value away. Why Spectate? Keep the game fair, settle disputes, and EARN every single time you spectate. You didn't think we'd let you spectate just for free did you? 🤔 Get rewarded for keeping the game honest and fair.

Why five thousand? What will my money be used on? As you may well know five thousand dollars couldn't build this app alone. Their are many cost to building an app including server upkeep, maintenance on the app, etc. These are the same expenses that I ran into two years ago while researching the development cost that comes with developing an app on this scale. The cost to develop and design this type of app was well over 100k. So I took it upon myself to learn to code and design myself. As a result over 50% of the technical build is completed.
So why 5,000$?
5,000$ Would allow us to jump start the app and get it coded in react native which would allow us to get the app to iOS quickly! Then we can start looking at our stretch goals for the project.
For the past two years I've developed and poured my heart into Coast 2 Coast. I NEED YOU to help me realize Coast 2 Coast on a nation wide scale. The hardest part in app development isn’t actually the technical build – it’s the awareness-raising. We need funds to execute a national marketing campaign to supplement guerrilla techniques I've been using so far. My goal is 5K. Support our campaign with a donation of any size so we can put Coast 2 Coast in the hands of athletes everywhere.
Most of the technological aspects have already been taken care of. The Coast 2 Coast platform is done by 50%. Here is a breakdown of our project timeline:
Coast 2 Coast is run by Josh Mckellar, a NFL hopefully currently living in Miami training for the upcoming season. Josh came up with the app while traveling in California. He wanted to play a game, and found himself driving from court to court trying to find a game to join. Then he realized, even if he did find a game, there were still a ton of unknowns. Did the court have lights? When did they turn off? Were the players any good? Was it safe? Josh set off to create a digital community where users could create and share information to empower local pick-up games anywhere, anytime. He’s been heading Coast 2 Coast for the past 2 years, working tirelessly around the clock to craft an intuitive, easy-to-use, fun app. Josh is the son of two marines who instilled in him a relentless pursuit of excellence and unshakable self-discipline – two qualities that serve him both on the court and as he leads the Coast 2 Coast team.
Risks and challenges
We have an ambition to successfully launch this Coast 2 Coast in every city and make it the ultimate app for everything sports. Driven by passion for both technology and sports, we already accomplished 350% of the project without any external funding. Your backing would help us to speed things up tremendously!
We are so determined and well prepared that only the total shutdown of internet in the United States or invasion from Mars would prevent us from launching the project. On a more realistic note, the biggest calculated risk is the developers. Coast 2 Coast was developed by self taught students including me and another developer.
We are passionate about this project and can't foresee any scenario where your funding wouldn't lead to the completion of Coast 2 Coast on both Android and iOS.
My name is Josh Mckellar I am the founder and CEO of Coast 2 Coast. Two years ago I left the state to play college football I realized I couldn't find a game of pickup football anywhere. Basketball is easier, you can drive by and local park or gym. Football is much harder as you have to actually know people, the time or place.
Taking note of this the seeds of Coast 2 Coast were born. It transformed into finding pickup games, to getting rewarded for finding friends to join you, and finally getting paid for your athleticism. You wont get rich using Coast 2 Coast but knowing you can earn extra gear, free healthy food, and other awesome prizes just for playing your favorite sports is incentive enough.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
