The Zeniths can hear you scream (even in space)!
Starcadians, report in!
<…> Our transmission… seems to be.. f..ailing! A derelict… cargo ship drifted towards… inside, they found… everywhere… I repeat: An invasion is headed your way! <…>
When a derelict cargo ship appeared on the radars, everyone thought that the day was saved - fresh new tacos were being delivered! But soon we all realized that the ship wasn’t responding to the hails, was careening towards Krier Station and wasn’t slowing down. It had to be hauled into a stop, and inside Starcadians found a surprising new threat: a race of swarming aliens quickly dubbed ‘Zeniths’ that moved efficiently and mercilessly. At least having an all-new threat should unify all Starcadians against it. Right? I mean the Crews would stop their quarreling over this, right? RIGHT?
For $25, the Kickstarter Exclusive Zenith Invasion Enemy Set Optional Buy brings a new group of hungry alien enemies that can be added to any Starcadia Quest Scenario, further increasing the range of available enemies for backers!
The Zenith Invasion Enemy Set comes with:
- 4 Zenith Grubs
- 4 Zenith Drones
- 2 Zenith Guards
- 1 Zenith Queen
- 4 Monster cards
How about we study our new enemies a bit closer?
Grubs are the initial stage in the Zenith evolution process, and as such, they don't attack Heroes are much as follow them around, infesting the place. They do however deal Wounds to Heroes when they get too Close (they love hugging!) and well, when THAT happens, they tend to evolve to their next stage, and are replaced by Zenith Drones!
Being the quadruped evolution stage of the mighty Zenith race, Drones are viciously fast, moving 5 Spaces per activation, which combines nicely with a strong Melee attack. Worse yet, Drones are the first (but not last) stage of Zeniths where their blood is caustic to other races, making them deal damage to Close Characters when they die - ouch!
Zenith Guards may not be the most numerous of the Zeniths, but these Officers bring an amazing combination of a thick defensive carapace, deadly sharp claws and an irritating habit of surprising Heroes. They have the same caustic blood as Guards, but to make matter worse, when they deal Wounds to Heroes, they also Daze them!
The Zenith Queen is a creature feared everywhere. She does not hold back to simply control her minions - no - she enjoys entering the thick of the fight and wreak havoc among her enemies (and subjects!). She may be the slowest of all the Zeniths, but as a protective mother, she gets activated whenever her Troopers are. Add that to a whopping Melee attack and an extra caustic blood and you have a real Tyrant in your Space Station. Game over, man!
*Please note that all miniatures come unpainted.
