Get ready for the Showdown: Starcadians vs. Arcadians!
Starcadians, report in!
Today we’re very excited to bring you an electrifying piece of news! The construction has finished (mostly) and the one thing that Starcadians from all across the Galaxy have been anxious to experience (other than Bacca-Tacos) is ready! Given how many threats the Galaxy sees and the consequent number of proud mercenaries and warriors that circulate the Starcadian Alliance, a special arena has been in development, where Crews can bring their best to test out their strength and hone their skills!
The geniuses at the No-Nonsense Expert Research Division (NERD) have at long last completed their greatest creation: The Hollow Deck! Choose from a library of adversaries, friends, or frenemies to battle against their Hollow-Image! Even figures of legend from Ancient Arcadia can be brought to life with their bizarre powers and abilities updated to the latest technology! It’s the perfect workout tool for extreme adventurers looking for extreme exercise in an extreme environment! Best yet: It’s perfectly safe! … Well, okay, the fire is real, and the lazers, and the swords, and the bullets…. Okay, look, bring some band-aids and antiseptics, but no one ever dies! … Well, usually. Brought to you by NERD Megacorporation: Where science isn’t mad, it’s downright furious!
Starcadia Quest: Showdown is a brand-new expansion that complements not only Starcadia Quest but also plugs into the Arcadia Quest series as well! Showdown is not about going on an arduous quest to defeat evil monsters, no siree! Showdown introduces a new mode: full Player-versus-Player deathmatches that will see players draft & pick all-new Upgrade tokens and enter a vicious arena to battle enemy Crews!
Starcadia Quest: Showdown comes with:
- 1 Double-Sided Game Board
- 4 Crew Dashboards
- 84 Hero, Pet, and Mount cards
- 1 Upgrade bag
- 70+ Upgrades and tokens!
- 1 Rulebook
And backers who get the Starcadia Quest: Showdown during this Kickstarter campaign will also get the Kickstarter Exclusive Hero Needles, including his figure and Hero card!
Being a Fencing Master does bestow upon one a few advantages. For one, you can chop your spicy tacos faster than anyone else. Then there’s the fact that hitting an enemy with precise, up-and-close strikes actually diminishes their defenses. Yep! Life’s not bad for a Fencing Master.
Now let's further explore this expansion!
The action in Showdown takes place in a Double-sided Game Board, with one side designed for 3-4 players, and a 2 players version on the back. With its tight corridors and sharp turns, the Crews (and Guilds) will see themselves immersed into non-stop action! Only 1 Stimpack, 1 Recharge Token and 2 Computer Terminals are still functioning in the arena and sometimes become contested hotspots. In Showdown, the Crews don’t claim Victory by accumulating Victory Points: the first Crew that manages to score 3 Kills is deemed Victorious!
Thanks to the Hollow Deck technology, Starcadians can conjure up the legendary Heroes from ancient Arcadia to test their mettle! With 60 Hero cards and 4 Crew Dashboards (sporting an appropriately battle-damaged look and slots for Pets and Mounts!) players with any Arcadia Quest core box (Classic or Inferno) or with the Starcadia Quest core box can join the Showdown! Cards for Heroes from the following Arcadia Quest series boxes are available in Showdown:
- Arcadia Quest (12 Heroes)
- Arcadia Quest: Inferno (12 Heroes)
- Arcadia Quest: Beyond the Grave (2 Heroes)
- Arcadia Quest: Pets (2 Heroes)
- Arcadia Quest: Riders (2 Heroes)
- Haldor & Brenna
- Tiaret & Mittens
- Mamba & Rosh
- Viola & Crash
- Anvil & Valma
- Yona & Kuruk
- Masmorra core box (5 Heroes)
- Masmorra: Adventurers Set (5 Heroes)
With an amazingly diverse and large roster of Heroes, the Crews prepared special weaponry for Showdown, featuring 70+ new Upgrade tokens! And of course a full PVP environment demands a new way for players to gear themselves up. At the start of the game, players will randomly get a set of Weapon, Reaction, Passive and Boost Upgrades and put them on the Upgrades bag. From there, they will shuffle and draw Upgrades creating 4 piles with 6 Upgrades each. The Upgrades in each pile are then revealed and players get to pick from them in order.
With new cards for Heroes, Pets and Mounts from the Arcadia Quest series available, these Characters can leave the Showdown arena from time to time, crossover into a Crew and travel through Space to fight off Thorne in the Starcadia Quest campaign!
For Starcadia… and Beyond!
