Warning: Contagion Detected!

Commencing Countdown, ELITE Soldiers!

We’ve recently reached $410k, and with it unlocked Anya:

Next up, we have a surprise for you - but before we get to that, let's not forget that the Dice Bag still awaits to be unlocked:

When we reach 2,500 unique Facebook Shares on this post we will unlock for all backers a Kickstarter Exclusive custom Project: ELITE Dice Bag, a handy solution to store your Action and Hit dice!

Instead of just revealing just one Stretch Goal ahead, why don't we reveal two? While at it, how about we add some more further adventuring to the Alienship Rescue Expansion?

This is what we call a parallel Stretch Goal. When we reach $420k we will unlock the Kickstarter Exclusive 'Contagion Campaigns', including two brand-new 5-Mission campaigns and 10 Alien Tech cards that go along with them only for backers acquiring the Alienship Rescue during this campaign. Just like the Mission in the Alienship Rescue Expansion, we're teaming up with the Artipia Games team to develop all-new content within the Alienship Rescue setting! This special Stretch Goal will not be included in the base Terran pledge.

But let's not stop there! Hitting the Stretch Goal after that rewards all backers:

Reaching $440k will unlock for all backers the Kickstarter Exclusive alternate Runners! These extra figures come in an exclusive alternate sculpt that backers can swap with the figures from the core box for added variety in their tabletop!

@Nicolas Pretty standard IMO. I avoid CMON retail versions because you get so much less. It is their model. They make millions are doubtful they will change it up.

These alternate sculpts definitely look better, love the open jaws and tongue - definitely more menacing!

@Jeff - If you're looking at your own interest only, consider this: by the time CMON gets to create the bonus campaigns, all they're contractually obligated to you is to provide 10 missions. The content can be whatever they want, you've already paid for it so they have no incentive to make it as good as possible.

OTOH, if they intend to sell that content to people who haven't given them their money yet, they'll want to get good reviews for *all of it* and therefore they'll spend more time polishing those campaigns.

Imagine you missed the KS and most reviews state "this expansion is good, but the KS exclusive stuff is worthless", it won't impact your purchase decision (actually it may even make you feel comparatively good about purchasing after the fact).

The added campaigns are nice and will hit before I finish typing this. As for the exclusivity, I've said this before while I was catching up; these are essentially rewards for being involved with the campaign. That said, it does suck to find out after the fact the base game is literally half the content backers got.

Perhaps way down the road CMON ought to later crank out an Xth anniversary edition with the exclusives or maybe a separate box with to pair with the reprint.

On a side note, I think CMON was too bullish on the facebook goal. Personally I don't touch FB, and they're cranking in the money without the "exposure". It's got me spending over 250 with plans to get Z:I down the road.

Frankly rather than just an alt sculpt, I would like an alternate card for the new version so I have the option for visual spice or using them as slightly meaner alphas or something.

CMON really sucks putting exclusive content atached to a expansion. Realy lame.

@Jeff - it can be really discouraging for people that find out about the game later on and are unable to buy the 'whole' game. I strongly KS exclusives to be cosmetic / material upgrades or reduced cost rather than exclusive gameplay content.

Why should we not get KS exclusive content? I’ve never understood this mentality. We are paying in full a year ahead on the hope of getting a good game. Why should we not get a couple bonus campaigns for giving them $500K+ cash?

    8. Nicolas Corai on

@CMON - Please don't make gameplay elements KS exclusives. Either the bonus campaigns are good and you just shot down the value of the retail expansion, or they're not at the level of the original campaign (say, quickly put together or not sufficiently playtested) and will not be played much.

Still hoping for at least two new enemy types + the Adrenalin alien types.

@Scotty - they plan stuff like this based upon requests. guessing this wasn't in the cards originally. But we can be happy they are!

    11. Nakano

2x More campaign added to the expansion sounds great. Must to add it now.

You should show the add on SGs upfront way more willing to buy that add on now!

    13. Scott C

I guess if you count the dice bag we have 3 parallel SGs.

    14. Brian on

Awesome - I been waiting for the alt sculps for the other aliens. I plan to paint these so I'll just make the bases unique!

    15. Scott C

Awwww!!! We wanted 3 parallel SGs!!! Haha!
