Hail Savages!

As the week draw to a close, we're getting closer to unlocking the Mercenary Grock. So let's take a moment to examine the forth tribe originally included in the HATE core box:

The world lay dying, and its spirits raged against the inevitability; clamoring shades, wailing in anguish. It was a time when one hearkened to madmen at their peril, though in great risk lay potential for great reward.

It was in their befuddled minds that the spirits held sway. Kindred souls they were, those of the dust and those of the flesh, each yearning for freedom perceived in the other. If only they but knew the folly of their desires, for shackles remain shackles, whether forged of mind or matter.

Freedom lay only in great sacrifice, of blood, of sight, of sanity. Cast a plea to the wind, and perhaps receive an answer. Perhaps the command is obeyed. Yet, the abominations brought forth did not wear their flesh easily. They roared and raged, their agony searing, their torment alien. A spirit in the flesh was but walking death, both for itself and any within reach.

For the madmen, no respite. No moment of calm. Such things were illusions, easily pierced by the third eye. The lunatics took satisfaction only in the clarity of that one moment, and a payment in blooded skulls.

The Tribe of Um'Cal knows very well how cheap life is, and every member of this fanatic tribe is ready to die for the ultimate victory of their Prince!

The Um'Cal focus on high risk, high reward strategies. If it works out for them, the results can be devastating. Of course, things don't always work out, but the Um'Cal have no qualms about throwing their lives on the line. Getting KO'd may often mean extra benefits for the tribe. Sacrifice a few of your warriors so the remaining ones go into a blood frenzy that wipes out their opponents!

First of all, the art work with the Maw ... chills. I'm even more glad we have that figure now!
Secondly, I never noticed the bones in the cloaks of most of these figures until I saw them painted. Brilliant. Just brilliant. I couldn't be more pleased.

I'm really excited about this kickstarter. Love the way its looking so far. The sculpts are great. I can't wait to paint them up. Please add more female sculpts.

@Paireon, lumberjack of Brimstone: Oops, you're right. The Shaman is obviously female. That's what you get for writing updates in the wee hours of the morning.

      Two things...
Is every sculpt meant to be male?
Because the one is obviously female and why not more female sculpts?
Why no illustrations or paintings of non-Caucasian looking people?
If the sun is beating down on the Wastes, there is an obvious evolutionary advantage to being darker skinned.

I'm really hoping the game play matches up with the sculpts and buildup you folks are doing. This is looking like a great, and very adult, game.

IMHO characters of this tribe are the best in terms of design. So beautiful!

      Fourth not "forth" tribe.

Slight caveat: you refer to the Shaman as "he", but when you look at the illustration it's pretty clear that "he"'s a "she" (hint: it's the chest).

I hope that we will see a similar update on the core box mercenaries and Tyrant.
