*Please note that all cards are subject to change before final release.

The Tully Sworn Shields act as the best defensive line that House Stark has under their banner. Wearing superior Tully Plate and rigorously trained to withstand any assault, the Tully Sworn Shields bring iron defense and surprising offense to the battlefield.

More exciting, it gives us a chance to showcase off the Order mechanic, first revealed here! Orders are powerful effects that a unit can activate once-per-round, utilizing it when they need it most to gain its benefits. In the case of the Sworn Shields, their Order allows them to pull their ranks into a mighty Shieldwall, granting them additional Defense Dice (and thus chances to negate incoming Hits) when they need it most- quite the boost considering that the Tullys already have some of the best Defense in the game!

When fielding Sworn Shields have no fear in sending them directly up to the enemy ranks. Their Brace For Impact Ability means they have no real fear of getting charged, and they themselves being some of the best trained knights in the realm, they will hit back with an impressive eight attack dice, hitting on a 3+!

Combine them with Greatjon Umber to make them the best of both worlds: iron-clad defense and Umber-backed offense, or put them under the charge of Robb Stark himself, making it so they gain the maneuverability to always be where they are needed most! However you choose to field them, they will be sure to be a fine asset in the Direwolf's march to war!

If you're interested in purchasing any optional buys, just click the "Manage Your Pledge" button on the A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game Kickstarter page and in the pledge manager add $30. We'll sort out what your extra money is going towards after the campaign has closed and we've sent out our Pledge Manager.

Until then bannermen...

      @Iain Row
Thx for confirmation. Yeah, the ability is a bit confusing for a warhammerplayer. :D I would have messed up too. 9 failed saving rolls equals 9 wounds...

    2. Morten Friis on August 10

I really don't get the point of these alternate sculpts. Especially when they don't have alternate abilities. Why not include some of the minor characters who'll never get a release of their own anyway. They are completely pointless as they are now.

    3. Joshua Van Zaane on August 10

Really impressed with this update and love the Tully sculpts! An auto include for my growing Stark army :)

      @Geeko

It is very confusing for someone coming from a Bolt Action or Warhammer background. It is similar to Saga, which is where I first encountered it and completely messed it up!

You are correct, if an opponent rolled 6 hits against you and you activate your shieldwall ability, you pick up 9 dice and if you get 6 successes you take no damage. You need to think of it like Shadowrun or some other game where people are rolling dice pools against one another.

When last I played Saga, I messed up and triggered an ability that granted extra defence dice against 3 hits, rolled badly and failed 4 of my rolls (but succeeded with 3 of them) and proceeded to pick up 4 models and say "4 failed saves" and took them as casualties. Nobody else spotted the error either because we have all grown up with Warhammer it is just so natural to us to say we are "saving those hits". It is reinforced by the habit we get into of even picking up the dice that hit to roll the saves.

@Francis Wiederkehr: I agree with you and would prefer to see the full Tully Coat-of-Arms on all the shields.

    6. Brian on August 9

Yeah it makes sense now... I can see why they are added with the Starks. I just want MORE!!! haha

@Francis Wiederkehr Knights can be particular about representing their minor houses even when fighting for their Lord ;) probably some are from the Riverlands, some are actual Lords Knights from Riverrun and some are from some minor house by a Lake perhaps.

@Chase Dimick You just add the amount of money for whatever addons you want. Example, I want 1x starter set and 2x Cutthroats plus one of the dice sets. This means Hand of the King pledge: 150 usd. Then go to "Manage Your Pledge" top right corner of screen, and add + 60$ for Cutthroats and 10$ for the dice. Note that I may change my mind and go for two other units later, this is fine! They will send out a more specific Pledge Manager at a later date where you will specify exactly what you want.

So how do these add-ons work? When and how can we purchase them?

I haven't done a ton of Kickstarters - but this one is looking amazing!

    10. Francis Wiederkehr on August 9

Any reason why not all shields have the full Tully coat of arms? 1/3 full, 1/3 only the trout and 1/3 only the river?

The extra Robb sculpt could be used just to add another Captain to a unit as well. He doesnt have to be Robb Stark...in friendly play anyhow.

I think you have to remember the name of the game is stark vs Lannister so I only expect to see those two armies and their allies in this campaign. I think that everyone else will be a later set of releases, maybe next year. Cmon likes kick starters so probably same time next year? The greyjoys are the odd one out in this game so I don't see them as a faction despite what I said about the 5 kings. It will be difficult to field an army who's prowess is at see but possibly as a mercenary faction ?

    14. Travis S on August 9

So thankful every house with a banner and words isn't getting their own army. It was one of the worst parts about Flames of War.

Comprise a Tully army for me. You've got Hoster...dying in bed. Edmure failing in battles for Rob, marrying a Frey and rotting in a prison cell. Then there's the Blackfish...where ever he is.

All of these houses are Stark bannermen. They should be in the Stark army. You can;t parse out the Manderley's, the Mormont's, the Karstark's, the Umber'sand every other house in the North. It waters everything down far too much. There are already complaints about the models feeling too generic. Now take that a step further, imagine a Karstark vs Umber fight? What do you do you have "Some grey guys with fur banners" How about you? "the same but mine have some chains".

I dont get the shieldwall ability. Normally you would roll a dice for a every successful hit, right? For example enemy scores 6 hits, you would roll 6 defense dices. With shieldwall you would roll 9 instead, so you get only damage if you fail 4 rolls out of 9?

    16. Bao Nguyen on August 9

Why don't they have a new hero instead of an alternate sculpt?
What should I do with the 2nd sculpt in game??

I can't really see both Stanis and Renly having separate forces as they would be similar and Renly is too minor (even if one of the five). I would rather have The Night King leading undead and ice spiders.

    18. Eduardo Guimarães on August 9

As i see it my guess for the next boxes would be:
-Baratheon with Stannis versus Tyrell with Renly
-Nights Watch Versus Wildlings (not really war of the 5 kings but in my opinion impossible to not put it in the game IN THE FUTURE)
And after that get harder to put 2 factions in a box, so i think some faction will be sold separately:
      -Targaryens
      -White Walker faction (?!?!?!)

Well if we roll with the War or the Five Kings period then Greyjoy would be on its own-- but it is definitely hard to picture them on the battlefield as they generally avoided pitched battle and stuck with raiding from their ships... except Theon of course.

Tyrell would be with Renly as the claimant they backed initially... but maybe they could be on their own and he could just be a possible commander for them?

    20. Sybaris of the Abyssal Woods on August 9

That's also likely why the Faith Militant has been sided with House Lannister. They aren't really mercenaries, and the only logical House they would be with is Lannister as they are in King"s Landing.

I definitely expect Targaryens (Denerys) to be released (Dragons, Unsullied, Dothrakis, Sons of Harpy) and Baratheons (heavy infantry, Corsairs, Melisandre, Stannis, Davos etc.)

Tyrels are such a major house that i can't see an attempt to bring them in, but Greyjoys will pose a thematic challenge as they use their ships so much in battle and i am not sure they'd face a large army on land.

    21. Missing avatar

      Poundshopper on August 9

I see the factions as being those who claimed the throne, the five kings effectively. The other houses are either allies or mercenaries (for now)

Not keen on either rob stark pose. He seems to have a funny leg in each, perhaps another angle would help

It's not practical or feasible for every family in Westeros to be their own force. Like how I would be amazed if the Arryns became their own faction. If I had to guess, Baratheons , Targaryens and Tyrells are the only houses that I think are guaranteed to become their own force, with Greyjoys, Nights Watch and Martells being pretty likely.

Nice, heavy infantry for the Starks.

@Brian: Given how closely allied Starks and Tullys were in the War of Five Kings, it's not surprising. Besides, CMoN had already released info (I think it was at a trade show) about some of the units that would be part of the game, and Tully cavalry was part of the Stark units.

    28. Brian on August 9

They won't be their own faction??
