Dale of Merchants 2 can either be played fully on its own or combined with the original Dale of Merchants. The game expands the gameplay possibilities and variance of the first one. You are one of the animal-shaped merchants competing to become the next Trade Master in this highly adaptive deck building game. The game supports 2–4 players and playing time is around 20 to 30 minutes.
Every card can be used in multiple ways providing the players with tough and meaningful choices. Do you give up a chance to use a splendid action in favor of getting even more astounding cards? You can't win the game without letting go of your cards.
The goal of the game is to finish up your merchant stall before anyone else. The first player to do so, wins the competition and is chosen as the new Trade Master in the free trade city.
With 6 different decks, the replayability of the game is extremely high. You get fresh gameplay by mixing various decks from game to game. The decks from Dale of Merchants 2 can be played with the original Dale of Merchants which brings the total amount of decks to 12! This introduces a whole new set of combos and possibilities.
The funding goal is set so that we can produce the game with extremely high quality components, including heavy card stock with linen finish. These cards are meant to last! We include the whole experience, if we reach our funding goal
This is why the stretch goals are mostly about small improvements to the game – it is complete and full without any of them. That being said, we do have one huge stretch goal, if we pass our last campaign's funding.
All stretch goals marked with "Promo!" are included for free in each pledge level containing a physical game. You'll receive one of these for each copy of Dale of Merchants 2. These promos will be available after the campaign for additional price in limited quantities.
The game is ready and heavily playtested. About 95 % of the artwork for the game is and ready for print. We will finalize everything during and after this campaign, taking backer feedback into account. This will allow us to minimize delays and deliver the game to all the backers as reliably and fast as possible.
Retailers interested in the game should contact us directly by a private message or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org).

"For gamers, Dale of Merchants is a filler, but it packs quite a bit of game in a small package. I like that, and the game has certainly enough interesting decisions. It's also good that it isn't a Dominon clone."
These video feature the original Dale of Merchants.

You can click below for full rules and low ink print & play files. See pledge levels for full production PDF files in English. A link to the files will also be included in all levels with an actual game once the final files are ready. You can find instructions on printing the files below.
Print with page scaling disabled. The PDFs are not sized to a specific paper size so it will work equally well for both US Letter and UK A4. If you are planning on printing double-sided, allow your PDF reader to center the page. If you want to make card backs, simply print 13 copies of the card back PDF as the animal deck file is 10 pages and the junk deck is 3. They all use the same card back image.
There's also a public link to the Google Docs version of the rules. It's there for you to make comments and give feedback. It's extremely handy as you can add a comment to a specific part of the rules and I'm able to answer to your ideas.
The correct shipping costs are added automatically to your pledge based on your country. It's $5 per game to almost everywhere in the world.
We expect to fulfill all the rewards ourselves, from Finland. EU backers do not have to worry about customs or VAT.
Shipments to non-EU backers will have 19 EUR declared as the value of the package (shipping included). That's roughly equivalent to 21.6 USD / 28.5 CAD / 28.7 AUD / 20.7 CHF / 2390.7 JPY, and should be under the threshold that triggers customs duties in most countries.
If everything goes as planned, you will get the game this year. The estimated delivery of the physical game is set to October 2016 to take possible delays into account. We prefer to deliver either early or on time rather than overpromise and be late.
You can see our project timeline above. Anything after this Kickstarter project is an estimate. We hope to stay on the schedule, but there are always possible delays that are out of our control. Keep in mind that this schedule is quite simplified and there are actually countless small tasks in each step on our way.
- Bring Dale of Merchants 2 to reality. The game will only be printed with your support.
- Make the game better for everyone. Stretch goals will enhance the quality of the game. The more we fund, the more we can upgrade.
- Awesome promos. Some stretch goals include promotional components that will be available after the campaign for additional cost.
- Get it first. Backers are our highest priority. We will only print the required games for all our backers and extras, based on demand. This is your surest way of getting the game.
- We listen. Make a difference and affect the final product by providing constructive feedback during and after the campaign.
The game design, illustrations, and graphic design are made by Sami Laakso. We want to thank everyone who provided help with making this project. In case we missed any, we are sincerely grateful to each and everyone of those too.

Risks and challenges
This is Snowdale Design's second board game publication. We successfully kickstarted our first game, Dale of Merchants, last year and delivered it to over 700 backers early without any problems. Dale of Merchants 2 is a stand-alone expansion. Its production pretty much matches the first game. Thus we are confident in our ability to produce and deliver the promised product to you.
That being said, unforeseen events in manufacturing, shipping, and delivery are out of our control. We promise to tackle all obstacles and provide open communication with full transparency all the way through the project. We won't stop until the game is in every backers' hands.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
