Update 3: Demo-Rama

Greetings, loyal backers! There's almost 1200 of you now, who have backed us for nearly $135,000! That's great, though it's less that what we need to make the Light by Moore'sCloud a reality.

We've had a good think, done a fair bit of soul-searching, and have come to realize that we need to do a better job communicating the the value of the Light to ordinary, non-technical people. Even some technical people can't see why someone might buy a Light for use around the house. That's something we're now working very hard to fix. Have a look at 'Plan A' over on our main blog, for all the details about how we're now implementing a process of demo-driven marketing.

We have to sell the Light, and in order to do that, we must show it in action. With that in mind, here's a video of our first demo, the Colorwheel. We promised the Light could deliver two million colors, and with the Colorwheel it's easy to select any of them.

The Colorwheel is only the first of about twenty demos designed to showcase how easy it is to use the Light, and how much value it brings in the home, in the office, anywhere. Show it around to your friends -- hopefully they'll be hooked, and back our project.

We'll post other demos as we get them ready, so you can see more examples of how you'll be able to use the Light. You can track our daily progress on our main blog and our dev blog. That's all for now. Thanks again for your support!

This may sound stupid, but the light, as a night light could maybe connect to the internet, and give the weather forecast. Gray for cloudy, yellow for sunny, etc. IS there a way of wirelessly linking to your smartphone via wifi? Can it tell you have a message waiting? or your wife is calling? Just a thought on expanding what is already beautiful to something more.

Light: is like a nightlight illumination bulb. The multicolor cube can be used just like light bulbs for "alerts" "temperature outside (red / yellow / blue)" or music mood cube, or .... well we will see some cool demos soon!

Good to know you're actively thinking about it.
I backed this because of its stand-alone nature, unlike other products out there like Philips' Hue or the LIFX.
I think the colour matching element is good, but as we've seen with the Hue and LIFX it's not quite as unique as it once was.

It's the other that made this stand out for me, particular the ability to interact with it, the accelerometer portion, that unlike the Hue or LIFX you can touch this thing. That it's there sitting on the table or shelf and is an object rather than a sort of abstract lighting globe, it's something that has a presence rather than just providing light.

I just love this idea and project and I am going to spread the word for sure!

@Marcel van Vuren - this is the first of many demos which demonstrate why the Light is a product worth owning. Expect two more updates over the next week, which will take the product in directions that others have not gone - and can not follow.

Look at, This is alreaedy a commercial product that can be bought. It does much more then you demo!
It would be better to demonstrate why this product is different!
