We are building a zeppelin, kraken and Tardis for the ultimate new public geek display and gaming fortress and animal adoption room.
We are getting closer to building an awesome steampunk experience in the New Clockwork Couture Shoppe!
We are pulling all of our resources together to make an excellent, submergence environment for you to enjoy including an 18ft zeppelin! It will be crashing through the roof from above, and also double as an epic light fixture. We hope to include a spinning propeller and if we get over-funded, we will rig it so that in-store customers can change the direction of the rudder.
As you can see in our latest update, we have the space and DE-Construction has begun. Sasha Travis ( Of Sypher Arts and recently in the League of S.T.E.A.M. "Dining w/the Devil") came by to help tell a little about the project and to lend a hand tearing down some walls.
We love the idea of bringing public art to spaces with none, fostering inspiration and creativity. It's fun to drive down a street and see, oh, I don't know, a TARDIS outside a building.
Copper tubing will be cut, bent and shaped to form the body, while flame retardant fabric will form the envelope. LED lights will be installed inside the skeleton to illuminate it from within.
What is this kickstarter funding?
- A full-sized Tardis* for public viewing/ enjoyment
- A rotating art gallery
- A multi-use classroom to help teach unemployed people how to start and run their own business (classes will be published to help those out of area)
- An in-store zeppelin
- An adoption room with socialization and enrichment toys for red-listed animals from the North Central Animal Shelter
- A fully themed gaming room for public use
Pets will be available to meet potential new families at Clockwork, pulled from one of the lowest adoption rate shelters in Los Angeles, North Central.
