Greetings & Salutations! Emmett Davenport from The Clockwork Cabaret here. First off, I’d like to say thank you very much for taking the time to read this; it means a lot!
This summer we are hoping to step into the studio and record a collaborative album with the very talented Eli August. We are very excited about the upcoming album, “The Victorian Dead”, and are happy that you can be a part of making it happen.
“The Victorian Dead” will have songs written about famous people who lived in the Victorian era. We plan on posting a list of potential people for fans to vote on and the winners will become the subject matter for the album. There will be spoken segments (performed by the cast of The Clockwork Cabaret) interspersed throughout the recording highlighting parts of the subject’s life and giving a general introduction to the song. We will also be creating a documentary of the recording process. If we go over our goal, we will give fans the option of adding more tracks to the album, or turning the songs that were selected into richer compositions i.e: more instruments.
How will the money be spent? It’s expensive to release an album. Major labels can spend a ton to release an album. None of us are on a record label, so we have to be creative to make things happen. The money we gather through Kickstarter will be going for the production and mixing of the album. Any extra money we make will go directly toward promoting the album!
How does Kickstarter work anyway? We offer some excellent, unique presents to you for pledging specific amounts. Click the green button in the upper right hand corner that says “back this project” and it’ll tell you what to do from there.
Please bear in mind that if we fall even $1 short of our $2500 goal by the deadline, the pledges are cancelled and you get your money back, which means we can’t make the album. There are rewards to sweeten the deal, and you can pick and choose rewards based on what level you want to contribute (early access to the record, signed copies, etc). All of them a way for us to thank you for supporting the music and this project!
Thank you! - Emmett Davenport
