About this project
Did you know that Victorians liked to drink weird crap? Seriously. They loved to put milk and eggs and all sorts of other ridiculous crap in their cocktails. Apparently, the average Victorian couldn't enjoy an after dinner drink unless he or she knew that part of their aperitif was made from the life force of another animal.
I wish we were kidding.
Join dashing steampunk darlings Emmett Davenport and Lady Attercop of The Clockwork Cabaret, or at least their puppet doubles, as they negotiate the thorny, tasty, and just plain bizarre landscape of vintage Victorian cocktails, and their modern counterparts.
The ladies would like to purchase two (2) puppets, the material for the scenery and to pay their videographer with the kickstarter fund. Right now, we are aiming to get the Emmett & Lady Attercop puppets made. If we go over our goal, we hope to be able to add puppet versions of Poppy the automaton, Mister Ducky & the other Davenport sisters (Klaude, Mingan & Olivier). Series One will have six (6) episodes & if the show attracts attention we will come back for a Series Two.
Emmett Davenport and Lady Attercop put out a weekly steampunk themed music based comedy podcast called The Clockwork Cabaret that has been running for six (6) years and has over three hundred (300) episodes.
TL;DR: Watch funny ladies try to operate puppets while getting smashed on weird drinks.
Risks and challenges
The biggest risk is that we would be able to create six web worthy episodes of Lushington's Lounge. That risk will be mitigated by the fact that we are hiring and paying a professional to film and edit the episodes. If our goal is met, she will be receiving an advance and will be paid for each episode created. Concerned about the hosts not want to drink Victorian cocktails? Have no fear! They do that for fun anyway. That is NOT a problem. Also, they don't mind making drunken fools of themselves, and have surrounded themselves with a collection of collaborators that are more than willing to encourage them.
Don't worry; this isn't our first trip on an airship. (In other words, this ain't our first rodeo.) The Davenport sisters have already been involved in a sucessful Kickstarter with the Eli August album, The Victorian Dead.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
