At Stevens Institute of Technology, seniors of most majors either have a design project, some sort of capstone thesis, or a combination of both. Depending on the program, there may or may not be funding for a design project.
The CAL (College of Arts and Letters) Senior Design Exhibition is revamping this year, and it will be the best exhibition CAL has had in a while, displaying the talents of the Art & Tech and Must & Tech students; however, unlike engineering or science senior design projects, there are not many sponsors or a budget for individuals projects. The Art&Tech seniors, specifically, have a small budget that will be used for the exhibition as a whole (such as food and other setup for the day-of).
About the The Game Table
I, Caroline, am looking to you for some help in funding my project. As a college student, I don't make much money even with work, at least to properly fund this project. What am I making you ask?
I am designing a touch-table focused around table-top RPG gaming, specifically the acclaimed Dungeons & Dragons RPG. The main components needed for this are a projector, computer, and materials to build the touch-table from scratch.
Why am I doing this? The Game Table is an exercise in user interface design (both tactile and digital) and user experience, since that is what my thesis is based on.
What I Need
I am looking for $500.00 to at least fund a projector and some materials (mostly the acrylic surface and rear-projection material). Even if you just donate $1.00, you'll make a big difference!
Also, please don't feel like it needs to be money that needs to be donated. I am looking for decent computer parts as well to build a computer or help putting one together for me. (If you're interested, I would like the computer to have Windows 7, at least 4GB RAM (though 8GB would be best), be able to run Adobe Flash CS5 (a decent graphics card and one that supports more than 2 monitors), and about 150GB of hard drive space (SSD is a want, HDD is the more affordable).
If you would like more information, please feel free to email me at knilline [at] gmail. (Please know that you should complete that email... don't want bots taking that.
I will be gradually posting updates on the progress of the project as time goes on so you know the progress!
