About this project
This project is specifically an Old Time Fiddle Album showcasing tunes of Appalachia. From crooked to straightforward, from lively to somber, each track tells a story. The main goal of this project is to preserve and further the traditional Old Time Fiddle Music of Appalachia. While most of the tunes have roots in West Virginia and Kentucky, the origin and lineage of each track will be carefully noted in the liner notes, when at all possible. It has now been confirmed that Danny Knicely, multi-instrumentalist, guitar and mandolin master and Victor Furtado, the young banjo master, will be working with me on this album! The album is set to be recorded at the legendary Patuxent Music out of Rockville MD! It is all thanks to you, the backers, that this is possible. We still haven't reached that goal, but with an end in sight, preparations are being made!
Risks and challenges
This album is going to be recorded at Patuxent Music in Rockville MD. Other great musicians will be involved, but I have to get the funding first! This money will strictly be used to compensate other notable studio musicians and cover studio costs. The rewards I am offering here are humble and modest, but meaningful. Let not the monetary value placed to them be a discerning factor, but more of a guide. The actual values certainly can differ, and if you think of something I haven't offered, let me know! I want everyone's input on this project to make it a community ordeal. Let me know your thoughts and suggestions! I will take them to heart. I love this music and through this cd I can only hope that some young fiddler will discover the same passion I have for this art.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
