VIDEO UPDATE! Pro-Production behind the scenes.
STRETCH GOALS!! If we hit these funding tiers, we unlock awesome stretch goals!!
$9,700 - GAME GEAR UPGRADE and POWER STRIKE II exclusive Kickstarter review cut. I'm getting my Game Gears modded to output superior video and will re-review Power Strike II, another game in the Aleste series. Kickstarter backers get the exclusive, only available in this Kickstarter, 30+ minute Power Strike II review and Game Gear upgrade saga.
$11,000 - COMMENTARY TRACK. I will record a commentary track for the Feature Length review of MUSHA. The commentary will be delivered as another file on the drive! Want to hear me ramble on EVEN MORE?? I'll talk about the production process, concept and more about Sega.
$12,500 - BIGGER! The instruction manual that comes with the first CGR Feature Review increases in size from 8 pages to 12, giving more instruction, laughs, detail, a notes section AND a high score section! Notes and high scores in one manual? This is INSANE!
$15,000 - LONGER! I increase the review runtime from 90 minutes to 120 minutes, adding in more detail, live actions scenes and Sega Genesis controller obsession. Which controller is best to play MUSHA? I’ve been having fun with this….
This is the first CLASSIC GAME ROOM FEATURE LENGTH REVIEW! Reviews that are longer, heavily edited, filmed with a storyline, polished to perfection and delivered in a hard clamshell case for you to enjoy until the end of time. Physical media is the future!! See the preliminary box and manual cover design below!
This is a HUGE journalistic review, and I want you to know the beauty of this amazing game inside and out. Released in 1990 to the Sega Genesis (and Mega Drive) by Compile, MUSHA is one of the greatest space ship shooters ever created! In fact, Classic Game Room believes that M.U.S.H.A. could be the very best game released for Sega Genesis / Mega Drive. Did you know that it's an acronym for Metallic Uniframe Super Hybrid Armor?
Why is MUSHA so good? What makes it truly revolutionary? Who can resist dancing to the aggressive soundtrack that was light years ahead of its time? CGR digs deep into MUSHA, journalistically covers its gameplay, its enemies, the packaging, the writing, the bosses and the Aleste series to review this game like no other game has been reviewed before.
LIMITED EDITION CASE?
I'm printing 50 limited edition case inserts that will be numbered and signed. No more will ever be printed!! Design details to come soon, but here's a sketch teaser....
2017 RE-REVIEW OF ROBO ALESTE!
That's right. It's just what it sounds like. I'm including a brand new Robo Aleste review with new footage and gameplay recording. The Aleste series is rad to the MAXX.
Let's smash the funding goal first, and then we'll see what I can throw in there. Perhaps I'll make it longer, or add pages to the insert manual.
I pull out all the stops, beat M.U.S.H.A. on camera, talk about the graphics, sound and background details, zoom in on bosses and pick apart the music for 90 minutes of high production value CGR review goodness released on physical media.
This CGR feature-length review is available on USB thumb drive in 1080p master resolution. It ships in a Genesis / Mega Drive style case, enclosed in foam cartridge exoskeleton for protection. When not watching it, proudly place this CGR review on your shelf in between copies of M.U.S.H.A. and Truxton. Your life will never be the same.
The feature review is 1080p 24fps. If you opt for the digital version it will be sent via DropBox, a free app and service that requires you to create an account (it's easy!)
USB thumb drive contains both MOV and MP4 files in a folder and plays perfectly well on PC and Mac. I tested it on PlayStation 4 and it looks great.
This does NOT include the playable game in any way, shape or form. This is a giant review of MUSHA.
Risks and challenges
There is always a risk of delay, but beyond that I think this is pretty achievable.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
