About this project
Join Clive 'N' Wrench in their 3D platforming, time travelling adventure to thwart the evil Dr Daucus, save the world from an army of mutants and eat more than their fair share of carrot cake!
Featuring time traveling, plenty of collectables, enemies, mini-games and good old fashioned platforming. The 90's called; they want their game back!
We really miss the days when you could pop in a copy of Banjo, Spyro or Jak fresh out of their boxes and just have an adventure! We aim to recreate those memories in the best way we can, but with all the modern improvements you have come to expect!
Our confirmed release platforms at the moment are PC, Linux, Wii U and Mac. With others very much being considered. We'd also love to release it on Steam, and as such we are currently going through Greenlight, so please vote!
Clive 'N' Wrench features 10 main worlds, set in multiple periods of time, from the Old West, to the Stone Age and even Victorian London! The evil Dr Daucus is after all of the Ancient Stones, and his army of mutants are there to stop you all throughout time!
Clive 'N' Wrench features a very diverse moveset. As well as the genre staples; running, jumping, climbing etc Wrench also has his trusty banana leaf for gliding, spanners for throwing and can be swung around in order to bash enemies or activate switches (don't worry, he's a hardy fellow and he loves being able to help!).
Clive 'N' Wrench consists of a hub world, set in the Space Between Time. It's a place outside of our dimension where corrupted time streams meet. By collecting the watches scattered throughout the levels you can fix the rips in time-space and unlock access to other time periods. However Daucus has placed blockades around the Space Between Time that can only be removed with the power of the Ancient Stones.
Collect enough Ancient Stones and you can unlock new areas of the hub world, sometimes containing new levels, sometimes boss fights and sometimes secrets!
Good question! Clive is a project that was started all the way back in 2011 if you can believe it! However It was this time last year we started really taking it seriously, and we've come leaps and bounds since then!
We decided on Kickstarter for a few reasons. Making a video game of any kind is a time consuming and difficult task for any team. So for one of our size working the limited hours we currently do means that it's taking even longer!
The funds from Kickstarter would allow us to spend a huge amount more time on Clive 'N' Wrench, and make sure we can release it on as many platforms as possible! (Console development kits are super expensive!)
The funds will also allow us to finish the game to the quality and scope that we think it deserves. Without the funding we will have to make significant changes to the game. Including but not limited to - less levels, simpler story, less mechanics and mini-games etc; In general just a lesser game. This would be a massive shame because we've got big things planned!
Lost Time Travellers - A world spawned from the leaking of time streams. All manor of different sections from different time periods all melded together! Adorned with images and armour based on you lovely people, but don't be fooled it's just as challenging and chock full of surprises as the other worlds in the game!
Risks and challenges
We are a small team working on our first full game. Most of us have worked on small scale personal projects, mods etc. We strive to be as transparent as we can, and are trying not to overpromise.
Porting the game to different platforms can be a daunting task, thankfully the engine Clive N' Wrench is being built on makes this process easier than most. However as we don't currently possess any console development kits, we can't easily foresee the related challenges!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
