Tom: Some of the previously published stories could not be licensed for this collection. The rights to those are otherwise tied up elsewhere. The contract for the original publication of those stories in the magazine allows us to keep them there, but not republish them in another project.
Besides, collections don't tend to include everything an author publishes. They pick and choose from what's available to provide the best representation of the author's work and almost always leave a number of works on the cutting room floor. Even if we could get the rights to all of them, it is likely some wouldn't have been included for that reason.

Yes truly the book should have included all the stories so far, instead of leaving some in the separate magazines

Hurley: It's in the campaign description. I updated it right after I sent out the note.

You are welcome to believe whatever you want, of course. I am seriously unimpressed. I notice you have not shared in a transparent manner the new TOC.

This sounds like a fair replacement. Both TongTong's summer and A hundred ghosts... were in the Invisible Planets anthology, so it doesn't really remove "new" content from the work.

I can't wait to be reading this.

Hurley: Adding the Chinese text was something we had received multiple requests for, but we understand that not everyone will be able to read (I can't either). It's in the ebook edition because adding text there doesn't increase our costs. As for that story, it was reprinted many more times than the story that replaces it. We sincerely believe that the new table of contents is a better representation of the quality of Xia Jia's work.

So, main stories gone. Replaced by at least one story that’s has been available (and I’ve read) for a while. Also, I don’t see padding with text when I don't read Chinese is any value at all.
Wish there was an, unlike button.

A sorry - even now saw it is in the Tor-Collection of Chinese stories - so I'm rather thankful for the new stories. What an amazing project this book - thanks for doing that!

A shame "A Hundred Ghosts Parade Tonight" will not be in? I like the story very much...
