I decided to create this comic book after Lexa’s death because, just like the whole fandom, I was really devastated. I strongly believe that people need some strong LGBT characters who they can look up to in their life, even if they’re fictional.
The story is about these two girls: Alysha and Elis. They kinda meet each other while they’re fighting against zombies and Elis happens to safe Alysha’s life. They end up in this random house, in the middle of LA and they start to get to know each other pretty well. These two fearless girls find out (throughout the course of the story) that they actually share more than just a connection - in fact, they will start dating. But how are they gonna survive in this apocalyptic reality full of walkers?
I created this comic book with my sketches and my computer! I use a graphic tablet to do most of my work (for colors and correcting imperfections in the draws).
Have you always wanted to create something like this or did Lexark inspire you
I kinda did. Making comics and drawing in general is one of my favorite things. One of my goals in life always has been to create a comic book on my own :) There are also a few unpublished comics that I’ve done before!
I calculated this number approximately by counting every cost of the project: the shipping, the printing (posters/physical copies), the 5% that kickstarter is going to take from this project at the end of it, and, of course, all the hours that this job is gonna take.
If I don’t reach the goal people are gonna get their money back (because kickstarter will give the money back to the people who actually pledged), but I would like to try to realize the comic book anyway - but still, it depends on how many donations I can get (mostly because it’s a lot of work).
