Welcome to The Ice Realms
Many years ago Tourok, a powerful wizard, fled to The Ice Realm after his army was defeated in battle. Search parties were sent to find him and bring back his head, but every party that went out failed to return. Eventually the kingdom moved on, assuming the realms were too harsh for anyone to survive in, and that Tourok had been claimed by the elements.
Recently, however, an army of ice creatures has been reported to be ransacking villages, slaughtering every member of these small communities, before fleeing back to the Ice realm. It's the job of the party to finally put a stop to Tourok once and for all, no matter the cost.
The Project - Current file count: 32
This project includes 13 unique core miniatures and 15 pieces of scatter terrain, with 23 more files available through easily achievable stretch goals, allowing a total of 51 files to be unlocked!
All of these are original designs, and the monster types have unique stat blocks and powers that add new, challenging enemies for your players to face off against. The monsters have CR ranging from 1-16, meaning they're a useful addition to any campaign and can be incorporated no matter the level of your players. They can also be used as random encounters in any tundra environment or icy cavern, providing your players with a unique challenge against a foe they've never seen before.
The one-shot adventure included in this Kickstarter is aimed at providing a challenge for higher-level players, and it can easily be incorporated into an existing campaign. Stopping Tourok from destroying the surrounding cities is a task that can be awarded to them by a high ranking noble, but it doesn't have to be like that. Maybe they decide to vanquish Tourok after an encounter with an escapee from one of the villages, or maybe the party themselves are targeted by his icy creatures, and decide to take matters into their own hands.
Whilst an SLA printer is ideal for minis, all these files can be printed on an FDM printer and look great, as evidenced by the images below which show the files printed on a Wanhao Duplicator i3.
Every single one of the models are designed to be 100% SUPPORTLESS to maximize ease of printing and overall quality.
Creatures of The Ice Realms
Below are digitally rendered images of the creatures of the Ice Realms, rendered in Blender. The medium creatures are on 25mm bases, whereas the large Ice Golem and Ice Crusher are both on 50mm bases, due to them being large monsters.
Overall the core minis include:
- Ice Golem (Large)
- Ice Crusher (Large)
- Tourok the Ice King
- 2 x Winged Ice Fiends
- 3 x Ice Warriors
- Ice Nipper
- Ice Crawler
- 2 x Ice Beasts
- 1 x Hidden Ice Beast
Every single unique creature shown above has it's own Monster Sheet. An example for the Ice Warrior is shown below. It also includes details on unique items relevant to The Ice Realms, such as the Ice Kings Crown and Tourok's Breastplate.
There are 8 monster sheets included in the core set, with 4 more available from the stretch goals!
Ice Realm Scatter Terrain
And it's not just minis that we've got available here either! There's a large selection of scatter terrain to help you flesh out the Ice Realms caverns, with even more available through stretch goals!
In total, the core scatter terrain includes:
- Ice Arch
- 3 x Ice Crystal
- 2 x Ice Rock
- 3 x Ice Wall
- 3 x Ice Corner
- 2 x Ice Wall T
- 1 x Ice Wall Y
Exploring the Ice Realms
Also included in this project is a short campaign exploring the Ice Realms. Exactly how you incorporate this adventure into your campaign is up to you, but several examples are included for you to adapt as you see fit. The adventure is your typical dungeon crawl, seeing the adventurers make their way through the depths of an icy cave, fighting through each room and battling with a mini-boss before coming face to face with Tourok, who is accompanied by a variety of his summoned creatures. It would be wise to advise players to bring along some kind of fire-imbued weapons, else they may struggle when faced with some of the larger, more powerful creatures that Tourok has under him.
The campaign also has a guide for how many of each file you'd need to print. Whilst these are simple suggestions, we hope this will make it easier for you to utilize the files in the campaign.
The process for each model always started in Blender, however some of the biggest issues that were faced were ensuring that the models were detailed enough, without making them so detailed that the print quality was ruined, and also ensuring that they were optimized for supportless printing. Below you can see some of the issues that were had with both of these, with tiny ice crystals creating an almost hair-like appearance, and too large overhangs leading to poor quality undersides. Issues like this have all been monitored and fixed with repeated prototypes and redesigns, to ensure you get only the highest quality models!
The Stretch goals will be modeled and test printed before the files are distributed in order to ensure you receive only the highest quality files. The aim is to create them as they're unlocked, to prevent any kind of delay once the Kickstarter ends. Any suggestions for stretch goals you'd like to see? Leave them in the comments!

Risks and challenges
All the core files have already been made and test-printed several times to allow them to be optimized and to ensure the highest level of quality. As such, the risks on this project are minimal (if they even exist at all).
Even in the worst case scenario, the release of these models would only be delayed rather than stopped. The files will either be distributed through a dedicated website or Dropbox, depending on the level of success of the Kickstarter. The distribution will begin once all the payments clear, with the PDFs following shortly after.
