Stanton System

Ownership: UEE (Corporate)
Planets: 4
Planetary Rotation: MicroTech (350 SEG), Hurston Dynamics (588 SEG),
ArcCorp (730 SEG), Crusader Industries (1554 SEG)
Import: Raw Materials, Manpower
Export: Weapons, Electronics, Computer Tech
Crime Status: Low
Black Market: None
UEE Strategic Value: Purple

The Stanton System is a corporate business park writ large: a series
of four massive SuperEarth planets terraformed for their resources.
Though built by the UEE proper, they have since been sold off to the
highest bidders support construction of the Synthworld. Some of the
largest corporations in the galaxy purchased rights to the worlds, at
a cost of trillions of galactic credits.

Despite the ridiculous corporate names, the transfer of the
SuperEarths was initially largely ceremonial; the population of
MicroTech did not suddenly belong to the corporation and each world
had its own dynamic economy. Since that time, however, the
corporations have begun consolidating power and generally moving to
bleed the planets dry.

The planets do act as corporate headquarters for the companies in
question and they are home to wholesale production facilities where an
eager merchant might find a good deal. MicroTech produces electronics,
including handheld sensors and computer software upgrades for
starships. Hurston Dynamics is a serious weapons provider for the
civilian market, ArcCorp builds fusion engines and Crusader Industries
constructs and operates slowboat colonies.

Next: "At the center of the system is a Classical Cepheid star, a
yellow supergiant that pulsates."

Name a System

The UEE Scientific Outlay has just reported in: five new star systems have been charted and the naming rights are available. We're offering five high-dollar pledgers interested in impacting the shape of the Star Citizen universe itself naming rights for these planets! For $5,000 you can pick the name of the system which will appear in the finished game in perpetuity and one of our designers will also work with you on building the system itself, to make sure it includes a few references and features that appeal to you. Please note that we have the right of refusal; your system name needs to fit in the spirit of the Star Citizen universe. This is the only time we will offer naming rights for systems - in the future, you'll need to discover a jump point and compete with other players to name a location, and you won't be involved in its design! You can pledge for a star system here.

Forum Issues

Unfortunately, a technical problem has forced us o take the RSI forums offline for the duration of the campaign. The software was not designed to the number of users we were seeing and it was dragging the entire site to a crawl. We will be switching to a vBulletin system in the near future and your existing posts are NOT lost. We will post links to alternative ways to engage with the team during the 24 hour end-of-campaign party tomorrow.

We need Patrick Stewart, Mark Hamill, and Nathan Fillion doing voice acting for this game! Assuming those three by themselves won't eat up a fifth of the budget... >.>

What's wrong with "engaging with the team" through Kickstarter message system?
ps. I'm still waiting for the answer.

@Robert Johnson: a very good question, and I have been wondering how it all works aswell. Because I have pledge for a Constallation Vessel and a Pirate Ship. So it would be nice to know, if you can have more than 1 character on each account ( Ex. 2 Characters with different approach/career ). And if possible, can they both use all your pledged ships. Or do you have to assign 1 for each character instead ???. Or do you in fact need to have 2 different accounts, if that's the path you want to follow ....
Please RSI inform and enlighten us :)

    4. Mihael Dreo on November 18, 2012

I'm for Tom Wilson too. Him first and then everyone else.

    5. Robert Johnson on November 18, 2012

Does anyone know how characters are going to work in this game? Ex: Can you have more than one character per account, and do each of these characters get your pledge ship.

Just curious in case I want to have one character that is a filthy pirate and one that is more of a trader.

      @RSI

Please hire Lindsey Stirling for some of your music!

She is an AMAZING violinist who has done work for Skyrim, and Game of Thrones. I sure I speak for many when I say that I will BUY the soundtrack if you feature her in something! Her stage work is pretty awesome, too--she'd make a great little sister following in big brother "Maniac's" footsteps ;)

John Rhys Davies is definitely my all time favorite actor from WC3 and WC4

Please don't use vBulletin for the forums. Its horribly slow and poorly coded with plenty of security issues. Use a faster, more stable software like Invision Power Board. You'll regret vBulletin at around 30/50k users. Trust me, I've run forums with over 100k registered users. It isn't fun.

    9. Phil Chao on November 18, 2012

so now that we've unlocked all the kickstarter stretch goals, is it better to just pledge or change our pledges on the RSI site? that way we can get updates instantly on the site?

    10. Matt on November 18, 2012

It must be pretty awesome for your problems to revolve mostly around people being interested in Star Citizen! :P

    11. Iron Jason Hahn ~Komurin~ on November 18, 2012

I really love Mark hamill, but Nathan Fillion, just imagine having Captain Reynolds in squadron 42 or in general in the universe!

OR and Patrick Stewart, yeah! We need both! :D

    12. Darkling on November 18, 2012

Considering the tablet i hope you realize the potential for disasters in that if you were only to support a minority of devices right ?

Oh please let it be Mark Hamill!

    15. James on November 18, 2012

@justin Its a very exciting time for these folks and some people are actually excited for them and watching for the updates.... Don't piss in their cheerios....

@kevin Not sure. I think they are not separate anymore, This has been a huge testimonial to PC gamer's and i think the development team has been overwhelmed a little buy the response.

    16. Darkk on November 18, 2012

We are still missing some more unlocked systems, right?

    17. pclabtech on November 18, 2012

Hmmmm.... "Squadron 42 will boast celebrity voice acting with at least one returning favorite and a full 50-mission campaign"

      Mark Hamill anyone?

    18. Ron Au on November 18, 2012

@Kevin Once the combined total reached $4.5 million, ALL Kickstarter goals get unlocked :D

      kevin on November 18, 2012

Wait I thought that the kickstarter goals were to be completely seperate from the core goals, and both sites state a different "biggest ship in the game" one says cruiser, and the other destroyer. Which one is bigger, and which one is actually been unlocked. Isn't there a difference between unlocked, and achieved.

    20. Ron Au on November 18, 2012

      @Justin YEP! :D

    21. Monty on November 18, 2012

@Justin.. many people want them.. if you do not, then just edit your setting on ks and you can check manually. By whilst you have the option to do this, people who want updates do not have the same option if the updates are terminated.

    22. Martin Solis on November 18, 2012

@justin If you want the updates to stop then get everyone to stop pledging!

Every update you see is actually a marker to let you know we went past a new threshold.

    23. Space Marshal MT on November 18, 2012

yes... if we get 100.000 $ each fast 5 min .... than we need it :-))))

    24. Justin Bell on November 18, 2012

seriously, do we really need a new update every 5 minutes?

    25. Manolis Krestas on November 18, 2012

      Next target 5 .5 milions !!!
