Foggy Frog and the Pain Gang Book Launch Update

Hi Everyone,

Everyone who has completed their survey should have already received their audio and/or e-book copies of the book. I've also started posting the paperbacks out. It's going to take a little longer than expected as I can only write on so many packages before my hand gets tired but hopefully in the next week or two they should all be out.

The book launch last Saturday, 24 September, went well. We had about 60 people in attendance and there was a wonderful speech from Kelly Vincent, as well as a book reading and some cake.

We've just uploaded the speeches to YouTube (see below) and we've also done a post on the blog with pictures from the event.

The book is now available online at Amazon and a few other retailers.

I have a conference this week, but after that I'm going to be throwing myself into book promotion. I'm aiming to donate over 100 copies to Libraries and schools across South Australia (plus a few interstate) and will be aiming to also get it out into the medical community through clinics and GPs.

If you have any suggestions on places to donate copies, please let me know at FoggyFrog@liveken.com

Megan

Hi Everyone

The books have arrived!
The books have arrived!

The books have arrived and I've begun collating everything to send out the final rewards.

Surveys were sent out to everyone on 12 August 2016.

If you haven't completed it yet please do, I need the completed surveys so I can make sure your books arrive to the right place.

Planning for the book launch is well under way.

A reminder for all those in Adelaide, the launch event is in 3 weeks, Saturday 24 September 1:30 pm at the Burnside Library. RSVP for catering purposes here.

If you attend the event you have a chance to win this beautiful handmade ukulele.

Online launch events will be held during Invisible Illness Awareness Week the following week, including give aways, articles, and group discussions. To be kept up to date about online events like the Foggy Frog Book Facebook Page.

Book Launch Announcement - Foggy Frog and the Pain Gang is almost here

Hi Everyone,

This is a post I've been waiting a very long time to share with you all!

We are so close to finally having the book finished (it will be going to the printers next week) and that means we've started to turn our attention towards fulfilling our rewards for you and launching the book to the general public.

You should receive an email from us in the next 2 weeks asking for your details for sending out your rewards but in the meantime I wanted to let you know about the plans in place for launching the book.

Our timing is good as we should have the book ready (and already on it's way to you as our loyal supporters) in time for Invisible Illness Awareness Week this year.

Invisible Illness Awareness Week is the perfect time to be launching the book as we try and raise awareness around the world about what life is like with an invisible chronic illness.

With that in mind, we have scheduled a live book launch for Saturday 24 September 2016 at Burnside Library, Tusmore SA, from 1:30 pm.

You can register your interest in attending the live event here. Registering will help us with determining catering requirements for the event.

I'm very excited to say that we have lined up SA Dignity for Disability MLC Kelly Vincent to say a few words at the start of the launch. We will also be approaching some of SA's top specialists and researchers in the chronic pain and ME/CFS fields and the media.

There will be cake, a live reading and a book signing session as well.

In addition to the live launch we will also be scheduling a series of online events during Invisible Illness Awareness Week so that those of you who don't live in South Australia, or can't make it to the launch event itself, can still be part of the launch celebrations.

If you own a blog or podcast and would be interested in participating in an online tour/event please contact me at megan@liveken.com.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the launch (either live or online) and please spread the word to anyone else you think might be interested in attending... Friends, family, neighbours, and coworkers... Everyone is welcome!

Foggy Frog and the Pain Gang Picture Book Cover Revealed

Hi Everyone,

Over the last 2 weeks, backers who donated $15 or more have had the opportunity to vote on the cover for the book.

Voting has now closed and it was a very close competition. Thank you to all of those who participated

Two of the covers had the same number of people place it first (and overall these two covers were very close). What was interesting was that the things people liked about each of them was different (the text and back pictures of one, and the front cover picture and colours of the other) so what I've done is combine the two, with some other great suggestions of feedback to come up with the following cover.

The final cover design is...

I've started thinking about the book launch and will be aiming to release to the public as part of Invisible Illness Awareness Week in September. This means getting it out to all of you before then so that you'll have an opportunity to see the book before everyone else.

You can expect surveys to come out by the end of July to request all the information we need to get your rewards to you.

I will be doing another update here on Kickstarter when we reach the printing stage but to keep up to date with everything else that's going on with the planning and with the Foggy Frog Campaign after the book is released, I will be adding you all to the LiveKen Newsletter (which comes out quarterly via MailChimp) and you can head over and like the Foggy Frog and the Pain Gang Facebook Page.

If you do not want to be added to the LiveKen Newsletter, you will be able to unsubscribe when the next one comes out in the next few days.

I am very excited with the quality of what we have been able to achieve and I look forward to sharing more with you shortly.

Until next time,

Megan
