Welcome to the Kickstarter for Before You Go: The Graphic Novel!
This sweet LGBT+ story about two ladies in love begins with a chance meeting on a commuter train. Energetic Sadie is working a retail job to save money for a music college, and Robin, a stylish and sophisticated accounting manager at 25, is a calming but guarded presence who's happy to talk to Sadie about work, dreams, and life. As Sadie begins spending her regular commute with Robin, their chats become the foundation of a beautiful friendship...and eventual romance, when they both crave something more! Both women are facing challenges in their respective lives, but they're tougher as a team, and all the ups-and-downs of a serious relationship are about to make them stronger.
Told through several stories that take place over the course of a long-term relationship, this uplifting tale is about growing comfortable in your own skin alongside someone you love. The graphic novel contains never-before-seen bonus content and a new story as a stretch goal!
Recommended for Teen readers aged 13+.

Creator Denise Schroeder pitched Before You Go during Sparkler's first open submissions period, and the original short story made its debut in the inaugural year of Sparkler Monthly's digital magazine. The story immediately caught the eyes and hearts of readers across the globe, and Denise continued the tale of Sadie and Robin in two more stories, both in the digital magazine and serialized for free online.
Now Sparkler's most popular ebook series of all time, Denise's charming LGBT+ romance about two working women has charmed audiences for years with its perfect mix of sweetness, drama, and satisfying happy endings. We're eager to put the complete series into print for the first time ever!
This brand-new paperback collection of the three Before You Go stories will also contain exclusive additional content from Denise: special bonus material, plus an all-new comic epilogue if we hit our first Stretch Goal. With your help, we can make this self-contained (and Teen-rated) girls' love/yuri graphic novel that's sure to brighten the day of anyone who reads it!
Pledge to this Kickstarter to get the paperback, the new ebook collection (which includes the paperback bonus material), and brand-new merchandise for this wonderful series! Now Sadie and Robin can grace your bookshelf forever and join you in your daily life with a brand-new keychain, sticker sheet, and even a pencil case! More merch is coming if we hit our Stretch Goals, and any bonus merch will be free additions to the $50 tiers and above.
We also have a limited number of sketched and signed bookplates from Denise herself! Don't miss your chance to get a one-of-a-kind drawing and author autograph on a beautiful bookplate to stick into your copy of the novel--or displayed elsewhere, if you'd rather show it off that way!
The majority of the funds will go toward printing the book and shipping copies around the globe, as well as printing up the other rewards. The Sparkler editors will be running this Kickstarter and ensuring that all rewards are prepared and shipped.
After the initial goal for printing and distribution ($8,000), Denise will be doing an all-new bonus comic at the end of the graphic novel if we hit $12,000! If we reach $16,000, we'll be doing a special enamel pin for Before You Go and adding it free to any tiers $50 or higher. We have more Stretch Goals beyond $16,000, but they're a surprise for now. ;D
Risks and challenges
Sparkler has run a dozen successful publishing Kickstarters in the past, and Lianne and Rebecca have managed more as freelancers for other publishers. Sparkler's hands-on, enthusiastic staff has largely stayed the same over the last few years. There are always risks when you're a small operation, but we're all ready to do this!
