My next project will complete what has become a kind of "father-daughter trilogy."
My 2010 short film GOOD LIFE was about a small child (played by my daughter Harriet) and her dad (me).
My 2011 feature film, TAKEN IN is about a father who must spend a weekend alone with his estranged teenage daughter at a roadside resort.
In January of 2012, GET BETTER will be released.
The title was inspired by a lyric in a song of the same name by the husband-wife, indie pop band, Mates of State: "Everything's gonna get lighter, even if it never gets better."
In my film, an adult daughter cares for her dying father...while helping him achieve a long-forgotten dream. The film will be funny, heartbreaking, and ultimately life affirming...perhaps unlike any other micro-budget feature you've ever seen. And of the same high quality you've come to expect of my work.
To accomplish this, I need your support.
By 31 August 2011, I hope to raise $12,000. If this is accomplished, I will immediately start pre-production on the film. We will shoot in October, edit in November, and release the film on 15 January 2012.
Just think. Your donation will make a full-length movie happen in just under five months.
The column on the right lists different levels of giving and the modest rewards you will receive for your generosity. Every gift is critical, no matter the amount. If you can’t afford to give financially, maybe someone you know can. Sometimes sharing this link is as good as cash.
I sincerely thank you for your consideration of my project. Be sure to check back every week or so for project updates, information about the award-winning creative team I am assembling for the film, special media postings, script excerpts, and to monitor our progress as we close in on this ambitious funding goal.
