Christian Cagigal attempts his most daring mix of magic and theatre where the audience no longer watches the show, they are the show.
Magician Christian Cagigal and The EXIT Theatre have been working together to bring strange, innovative and theatre based magic shows to the public since 2006; works include The 13 Steps, the popular The Pandora Experiment, the long running Obscura and the critically acclaimed Now and at the Hour (World Premiere NYC FRIGID Fest 2009.) Whether telling dark tales with playing cards or a seance with a possibly haunted doll, each show strived to become a genuine piece of theatre that enveloped every audience member that came to experience it.
The Collection will be Christian's darkest and most audience involving show to date. Each night, select members of the audience will change from passive spectator to main character of the showas certain strange and magical choices are lay before them. This show will run for thirteen nights in a row 4/1/12 - 4/13/12; April Fool's Day to Friday The 13th. No extensions.
The funds raised through Kickstarter will cover the costs of creating this ambitious show which usually includes multiple trips to hardware stores, craft stores, office supply stores, magic shops and antique malls (say nothing of eBay.) Especially when one considers the changes that occur in the rewriting process, creating a theatre-based magic show can become an expensive endeavor. Also, a portion of the funds will go to The EXIT Theatre to help them offset the financial risk of staying open for thirteen nights in a row, that includes rehearsal space as well as the theatre rental itself.
