WHAT IS THIS EXACTLY?
We are back, having successfully re-comissioned ourselves, to create a six episode second series of award winning (Unrestricted View, Best Web Series 2018) dystopian dark comedy M.O.T.H.E.R Knows Best.
Set in a not too distant future, The Interviewer (Chris Mayo) is stuck in a government market research facility desperate to escape the endless hours of mind games, conspiracy and admin. But is there more out there behind the curtain? And is it worth risking everything to look?
SOUNDS GREAT, BUT...I HAVEN'T SEEN SERIES ONE...
Well, frankly, we are appalled, BUT, you can jump right in to one of our favourite episodes (the one that won as an award no less...did we mention that?) below. Or you can subscribe watch the whole series on YouTube right here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt6lE9SiI-xSQimbE2Bs9rQ

MORE SPECIAL GUESTS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!
WHY DO YOU NEED MY MONEY?
We managed to make the first series for just under £3000, but had so much more we wanted to do. For this season we are going to be BIGGER, BETTER, FUNNIER & GORIER. Which means our actors costs, location costs, make up costs, prop costs, marketing costs and equipment costs are going to be higher but it means a MUCH more professional, slicker finished product which we really think will be worth every penny.
Here's a break down of what your £4000 will get us
LOCATION COSTS: £600 We want access for ten days to two weeks so we can do re-shoots, be flexible around actors commitments and have the time and space we need to comfortably make the series
CAST COSTS: £1750 we want to pay all our featured artists a minimum of £150 per day and our and our supporting artists £70 a day. This is fairly standard across the industry for low budget filming but they deserve much more, so any extra funding will predominantly go towards cast & crew.
CREW COSTS: £1000 we pay ourselves a very small wage to cover our travel costs, food and basic time, but we also have to pay for our brilliant cinematographer Samuel Marlow and our sound recordist. Lots of time and effort goes into making the show look and sound great, and we would love to be able to pay everyone involved in the production side even more money.
FOOD & DRINK: £200 we of course want to provide food and drink for everyone involved in the shoot. £200 will cover basic supplies but we would love to be able to offer something more exciting if we reach our stretch goals!
MARKETING: £120- Facebook, Twitter and Instagram really helped us build an audience through promoted posts and adverts for series one, but £120 will only allow us to reach a a fraction of the audience we want to. We would love to be much more widespread than this, so, if we reach our stretch goals, we'll top up our Marketing budget after the crew & cast costs have been accounted for.
PROPS: £70 - We're very resourceful when it comes to props but there are some props and costumes we just can't get on the cheap, so £75 should cover everything we need.
INSURANCE £260 - Despite appearances we actually care a lot about safety and making everyone feel safe and happy on the shoot. You can't film without insurance, so we'll need to cover this for everyone who steps onto our set.
All the above is the absolute minimum we're able to do the series on, plus there will be lots of other unexpected costs along the way. Realistically we would love to reach our STRETCH GOALS of
STRETCH GOAL 1: £5000 (£500 extra to our cast, £400 extra to our crew, £100 extra for food & drink)
STRETCH GOAL 2: £6000 (£1000 extra to our cast, £700 extra to our crew, £100 extra for food & drink, £200 extra for marketing)
STRETCH GOAL 3: £7500 (£2000 extra to our cast, £1000 to our crew, £100 extra for food and drink, £250 for marketing and £150 towards our private screening)
The above are all approximate costs, but our priority is ensuring we deliver the highest possible quality for series 2 and ensure everyone involved is fairly paid and looked after.
SURE, BUT WHAT DO I GET?
Apart from SIX brand new ten minute episodes, you can also get some very exciting REWARDS. You can see ALL episodes before anyone else, get exclusive signed posters or scripts, your own personalised cartoon or comedy sketch, executive producer credits, screening invites and more! Check out the rewards column for full info!
If we don't raise AT LEAST £4000 within 30 days we won't get ANY of your donations. Your donation doesn't get taken until after we have successfully been funded, so even if you can't afford it right now, you won't need to pay straight away!
If you can't help financially we totally understand, but please do share the link with anyone who might be able to. Every tweet, Facebook post, email or good old fashioned conversation about our show and campaign will REALLY help.
WISH US LUCK!

Risks and challenges
There is a risk that we won't secure the minimum amount of money we need to make the project happen, that's why we've thought hard about how we could make the show on a small but realistic budget and set this as our goal. We very much hope to raise beyond our target so we can create the highest quality show possible, but we think what we're asking for is realistic and necessary.
Working on a low budget, there's always the chance that actors may get offered larger projects making the unavailable, however, as we have access to the location on an ongoing basis and are having a flexible shoot schedule to prepare for any illness or unavailability we should be able to work around any unlikely problems. Plus, we have an awesome, dedicated, passionate group of actors and crew on board who are very excited to make the show with us...so that helps!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
