"Your Eyes are the Prettiest" A Chris Barry Film
I want to express how emotion is universal language. This story shows the new love through two deaf people through their emotions only.
Up above is a trailer for my latest project, Waldo: The Movie, which was filmed on a barebones budget (aka my wallet).
I'm Chris Barry, from Massachusetts, USA! I've been holding a camera in my hand since I came out of the womb! I've always been filming this, and that. All my home movies are just my showcased work.. Sloppy, but I was an original 8 year old! Ever since 2009, I've gotten serious with my filming, teaching myself. I went to Fitchburg State University for film and video production major, but dropped out in December of my freshman year, just to focus on my filmmaking skills. I'm self taught ever since my youth, just working my way up. My latest, Waldo: The Movie, is my best improvement.
In the process of finishing up Waldo: The Movie, I had this great idea for this film to show that emotion is a universal language of love. I wanted to show this with two deaf people that meet. At first, they are too shy to really get to know one another, but as they get to know each other, they learn so much about each other through visuals. True love doesn't need to be heard, just seen. That's what I want to express with this short film.
With $6,000 - a large portion of that will go towards the perks, YOU! These costs would go into the production of DVD's, Posters, and shipping. These costs will vary. Other costs that will vary are booking costs, film festival costs, food, lodging, travel, and any unknown costs.. i.e. accidents, rentals, additional props.
With at least $1,500, we will put towards new equipment--i.e. rigs, sound equipment (seen below).
The last portion of the funds will be used to pay actors. On one film day, each crew member will earn $50 on a 7 hour film day, and each actor (2 actors) will have a deferred pay contract, with an up front $500. Using other parts of the budget will pay for lodging, food, drinks, and transportation. For my crew members, filming for 7 days (est), that's $350 for one crew member. For all three (A.D. has no pay), thats $1,050. in total, paying the actors and crew members will cost $2,050--not including food, lodging, travel, etc.
Cast/Crew-at least $2,050
This leaves about $1,450 to use towards food, lodging, miscellaneous, and most importantly--REPAYING YOU!
It is my TOP priority to give each and everyone of you updates. I will commit to this via email, Facebook, Twitter and to promote this endlessly. Only a small portion of the budget will be used to promote this through Facebook.. an estimated $200 for that.
BEHIND THE CAMERA/EQUIPMENT.
With the 'equipment' portion of the funding, we will invest in a new$ camera rig, the FLYCAM!http://www.amazon.com/Battle-Tested-Film-Gear-954-FLCM-CMFT-KIT/dp/B00D1TF89K/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1424532730&sr=8-11&keywords=flycam+5000
For sound, we will need a separate field mixer. This is the one we chose.
•For our lead female, playing the role of Emily, we have sweetheart Blair Drummey.
•For our lead male, playing the role of Adam, we have our scholar Josh Geneo
For the crew, behind the camera, we will have a small crew. Up until now, it's always just been me behind the camera, doing the job of about 30 people. This time around, we will have a working crew!

Risks and challenges
The biggest risk that I run into as a film producer and director, is running short on this budget, and having my film rushed into perfection. If our budget is not quite met, I will have to cut the less important things out of my funds. These things might be like a new flycam rig, or paying my actors that much, or at all! One of the ways I will overcome this is leaving room in the budget, the $1,400 you saw. This flexible room is helpful for any unexpected events, or extra need we will need, as I am not a professional, and this is merely an indie, low budget film! Any challenges that come, I will tackle them up front, but scheduling is important to me! Which is why I have scheduled the budget, and which is why your investment is very fragile. Your perks, will be the highest of quality!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
